Hello! My name is Jamison, who after a 2-3 year hiatus from DnD, am looking to get back into the hobby via online campaigns.
I have experience DMing, as I DM Dragons of Stormwreak Isle to much success, before my hiatus however I am not looking to DM at this time.
I prefer more Role-playing over combat, a good 70-30 split between. Deep character architecture, stories, and interactions are very satisfying to watch unfold.
My best times will be in tbe evenings MST time, around 5 MST. Fridays are preferred, but any other days other then Wednesday and Sunday I can work with.
I already have a couple character concepts thought up, but I can always make more. Comment on the Thread with questions or links to see if I'm a good match.
Welcome back to the hobby — it sounds like you’re exactly the kind of player our community is built for.
We run The Nexus, an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly D&D 5e (2014) community structured as a Westmarch-style server, where each DM runs their own world and story. That setup works especially well for players like you who enjoy deep character arcs, RP-forward storytelling, and meaningful interactions, since you can choose tables that lean heavily into narrative rather than constant combat.
A few things that should line up nicely with what you’re looking for:
RP-forward games are common (70/30 RP-to-combat is very normal here, depending on the DM)
Evening-friendly scheduling, with a global player base and many EST/MST-compatible sessions
Free-to-play only, no paid games
Multiple long-term storylines alongside one-shots that still feed into ongoing worlds
2014 5e ruleset, all official content allowed
D&D Beyond campaign links for easy content sharing
Play by Post / TRP options if you ever want slower-burn character development between sessions
Characters start at level 3 with a generous 35-point buy, and there’s no hard level cap (proficiency bonus caps at +10), which gives plenty of room for long-term growth and experimentation. Having a DM background is also appreciated — you’ll find a lot of fellow forever-DMs enjoying life on the player side here.
