Hey Fire_Dragon93 — welcome to the hobby, and honestly, you’re coming in with a great mindset.
I’ll be upfront first: we may not be exactly what you’re picturing if you’re looking for a single small table. That said, for learning D&D properly, casually, and with support, what we offer is often better than jumping straight into a fixed campaign with one DM.
You might want to take a look at The Nexus.
We’re an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly online D&D community built to help new players learn at their own pace while still having real games, real stories, and real progression.
What makes us a good fit for you specifically:
Beginner-friendly by design — many of our players started exactly where you are
Multiple DMs, each running their own world, so you can find a playstyle that clicks
Westmarch style, meaning no pressure if you’re still learning — jump into sessions when ready
Global community with sessions running every day, including plenty of EST-friendly times
Casual learning-friendly tables, with DMs happy to explain rules as you go
Play by Post / TRP options available if you want to ease in with text-based RP
D&D Beyond campaign links for content sharing
2014 5e ruleset, which is very friendly for learning fundamentals (and your 2014 PHB fits perfectly)
Level 3 start with 35 Point Buy, so characters feel capable without being overwhelming
A lot of newer players appreciate that they can:
Try different characters without being locked in
Learn combat and RP gradually
Ask questions without feeling like they’re slowing a table down
