My group and I looking for one more player to join our homebrew campaign on Friday evenings at 7:30 PM CST. We play online using Discord (voice/video) and DnDbeyond’s VTT. We’re only about two sessions into the main campaign, so this is still the perfect time to jump in. We also have another new player starting, so you wouldn’t be the only fresh face at the table. The setting is a high fantasy world inspired loosely by the Forgotten Realms, but with plenty of personal flair and collaborative worldbuilding. I also sometimes run some one-shots with whatever theme the group is interested in when not everyone can attend on session night. (most currently a steampunk airship sky-pirate adventure in search of fancy hats and a means of interdimensional travel) We use 2024 rules as our default, but we’re flexible. If something from 2014 fits and feels balanced, we use that instead. We’re not rigid about mechanics as long as everything feels fair and fun. Our play style is relaxed and story-focused. We care more about what feels meaningful and collaborative. We’re fairly heavy on roleplay, but I aim for at least one combat encounter every 1–2 sessions to keep things dynamic. We do pause to talk through rules and mechanics sometimes, and we’re open to light homebrew adjustments if it makes the experience better. Most of us are newer players, and I’m a relatively new DM with about a year of experience behind the screen (and zero as a player). Everyone is enthusiastic, supportive, and genuinely excited about their characters.
We’re hoping to build more than just a weekly D&D game. The goal is long-term camaraderie and friendship. We have a private Discord server where we chat between sessions, brainstorm character ideas, share memes, and just hang out so we are looking for someone who will want to be active and social throughout the week. we also occasionally will roleplay small or personal scenes via text between sessions.
Regular attendance is important to us so the story can move forward smoothly. Life happens, of course, but we’re looking for someone who can commit consistently. We would especially welcome new players who want to learn and grow alongside the group. All we ask is that you’re respectful, collaborative, and interested in long-term play. If this sounds like your kind of table, we’d love to hear from you.
Send me a DM here or add me on Discord and tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re looking for at the table and in the game.
