“Welcome wanderer, grab a seat. You’re not the first to come in asking what’s wrong around here, but I wish you were the last.
A couple months back, Master Elrond gathered a fellowship. Good people, bold people. To stand against the raiding orcs who've emerged from their dark dwellings and been terrorising the region ever since.
First I heard, they went to those old Elven ruins in Hollin. They say the orcs were digging around, looking for trinkets. The fellowship stopped that. Then they broke a pack of fools in the Trollshaws who thought they could leash trolls like dogs and march them behind some "New Dark Lord".
When they came through Bree, that’s when I met them. Tired, wary, but… decent people. Paid fair. Helped around. Even solved the murder of our carpenter, Pete. Nasty business. They said it had some dark ties and ventured into the depths of Chetwood. I'm not sure what happened there, but I'll tell you this: Folk sleep easier after that whole ordeal.
And after that? They went up north, to the Deadman's Dike. A horde of orcs invaded the place a while back. Holding captured ranger-folk there. Haven't heard from them since they left a month’s back.
Listen, friend. The shadow is still looming over us all. This company has been leading a valiant fight against it, but each time word reaches us, there are less of them. And if the next time they ride out, they don’t ride back…who’ll protect our folk?
So what about you then, wanderer? Are you just passing through… or will you ride out with them?”
Experience/Requirements
Passion and some knowledge about Middle-Earth is required (books and/or movies). Experienced players in roleplaying are preferred but we’re open to all levels of experience.
I enjoy players who take initiative and live their characters to the fullest. Players must be 18+
What to Expect
It’s important to note that you’ll be joining a campaign that has been ongoing for over a year. We’re in a very good spot to get new players and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. You'll be starting from level 6.
I try to maintain a healthy balance between combat and roleplaying. Though there are definitely more combat-focused sequences. I’ll try to capture the feeling of journey, exploration, mystery and camaraderie in the movies. Note that although AiME is a 5e conversion, it has no caster classes and magic is quite sparse.
Campaign has a main goal but steering away from it to explore player characters’ stories is completely okay for us as well. I try to keep the overall difficulty low to make you feel like fledging heroes. However, there will still be challenging and deadly encounters from time to time.
Who am I
I’ve been running games for almost a decade now. I’ve had experience in different systems but this is my first game in 5e. In my games, roleplaying comes first and rules second (rule of cool). Middle-Earth is a very special setting for me and this campaign is dear to my heart. So I’d appreciate players who share my enthusiasm.
