Hello, I’m Breiden. I’ve been a DM for about 5 years now, and I’m looking for a couple of players for a homebrew campaign. I have Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Eberron Rising from the Last War, and Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft, which I will be sharing with the group.
You will start at level 3 with 1 uncommon magic item. Session one will be on Wednesday, and the exact time will be decided by the group. I have a flexible schedule, but I would prefer players within the US or Canada.
I will need to do a short 5 minute call to check mic quality, age, and a few other details before confirming spots.
With all of that out of the way, here is the story.
Around 1500 years ago, a powerful Lich King nearly conquered the entire land of Eldoria. His dark armies swept across the realm, leaving destruction in their wake. However, the remaining kingdoms united for one final stand, managing to defeat him. Yet unlike most liches, he possessed no known phylactery to destroy.
Fearing he might one day return, the greatest mages of the age cast a powerful sealing spell, tearing his body apart and scattering his limbs across the land, each hidden where none would ever find them.
Now, centuries later, a sinister group known as the Order of the Blind Eye seeks to reassemble the fallen Lich King and restore his reign of terror. To prevent this catastrophe, the rulers of Eldoria have issued a grand reward for anyone who can stop them.
You are a band of adventurers, each from vastly different backgrounds, drawn together by the promise of gold, glory, or perhaps a deeper purpose. With the fate of the realm at stake, you set out on a perilous journey to ensure the Lich King remains buried in history forever.

Tell me about your character in a few sentences. First Idea: First look at Brune the Halfling you wouldn't think he posed any threat to you. With his small statue and his love a good ale and warm fresh baked bread. But hes packing a gun that is drawn quicker than you can finish your drink. Brune is someone who has had nothing in his life so he turned to banditry and highway robbery. But ever since he met a old traveler that told him he was destined for more he left his gang he searched for whatever destiny has in store for him.
Second Idea: Ser Tobias Mandrake is a Knight of a local noble family household he has trained with the sword and lance his entire life. He loves the finer things in life and would prefer a soft feather bed instead of the rough and hair ruining ground. The noble family he served treated him well and like part of the family. But one day after a failed joust that Ser Tobias swears he was cheated out of he lost his armor, his family's sword and his noble stead. Disgraced and his honored stained he is pushed out of the household and is pushed into the outside world.

(Nanaar paladin) Nanaar Nualdrin was born beneath the shadow of a dying volcano, in a dragonborn enclave known as Kaalthur Vey, where the heat of the earth was said to harden both steel and soul.

I played for a few years as an adolescent, a few decades ago.
What would your species and class be?
I am flexible. I am just getting back into this, and have been playing around with character creation. My preference would be a human sorcerer with a lot of utility type cantrips. I'm also game to go with an elf dexterity based fighter, if that fits the group better. Those are the ones that I felt the most excited to try out.

The sorcerer is a bit "flighty", always looking for something to do or see, because who knows what might bring him a new way to gain a little more power. So permanent restlessness mixed with insatiable curiosity, and dash of ambition.
The dex fighter is more of a staid, calm, been-there, done-that, kind of guy. He was recruited into a militia at an early age, learned to shoot, learned to hurry up and wait, and is confident and satisfied with his lot. But as any soldier from the rank and file, not averse to a bit of pranking and fun if he thinks he'll get away with it.

(Thalor) Thalor was born in a small village with strict and abusive parents. at the age of 16, he finally ran from his family and joined a league of runaways turned assassins called The Shadow League. Years later, he went off on his own to explore the world and get more coin for the League.
(Drake Agapov) Drake was born among a small clan of halflings in Barovia. When he came of age, he set off to become a Brewers' apprentice, promising his childhood sweetheart he'd marry her when he returned. After years of traveling, Drake returned by a letter sent from his parents. On the night he married his fieance, he was attacked by her and transformed into a dhampire. Filled with grief and scared of his new powers, he fled his hometown to wonder aimlessly across Ravenloft.
(Hazard) An middle aged man who comes from a small magical family who is also obsessed with gambling. While growing up, his family taught him at a young age not to trust anyone and taught him how to gamble. Hazard is a little cocky but also mysterious and collected. He soon left his town because the underground mafia thought he cheated in a poker game and two days afterwards he found his family brutally murdered in their home. Hazard knew it was the underground boss but he couldn't prove it without money and evidence, so he set out to find what he needed.

i'm a newbie to playing. i've played a couple one-shots with different gaming groups throughout the years, but it's difficult to find consistent groups that aren't already full and/or open to new players. i watch a lot of real-play, but have very little playing experience. i'm in EST and can only participate if it's after business hours on wednesdays.

only a few years into her adventuring career, raven is a half-drow, half-tabaxi wizard now on her own after two former travel companions retired. she prefers spending more time with books than with people, but realizes that the only way to learn her craft as quickly as possible is to take on adventuring jobs; surviving combat and buying spellbooks means traveling with others and making it work until she feels comfortable adventuring more frequently on her own. neither disloyal nor antagonistic, raven prefers to stay focused on the mission(s) at hand, seeing her fellow travelers as co-workers benefiting from one another's skills, while also following her curiosity / pursuit of knowledge where it takes her.

He's been taught to distrust the arcane, but he's beginning to believe that this spark might just be intended for good.

Ive been playing for 8 years now! All mostly 2014 5e, but I've played a bit with 2024. Ive completed many campaigns and one shots, and am very familiar with the mechanics and system.

I plan on either playing a half elf white draconic sorcerer or a drow cleric of light, depending on the party composition!

Minerva, the sorcerer, is the middle child of a noble family. Having inherited his mother's white draconic ancestry and not his father's golden, he became the black sheep. Considering this, Minerva never cared for following the expectations of a nobleman, taking to drinking and getting into bar fights. He joins the adventure in the vain attempt to prove to his father that he is just as powerful and important.
Valas, the cleric, grew up disconnected from other drow as a acolyte to the god of light. Ironic, considering his pale eyes are incredibly sensitive to light, something he corrects with a pair of darkened glasses. With a fervent hatred of the undead that only religious zealotry could bring, he plans to end this threat through righteous divine light.
