Looking to start a campaign with my friend and 2-3 other players. Will be using Discord and Beyond for everything. Its been exhausting trying to pick a specific campaign so just be ok with forming a group to play D&D and have fun. Tell some stories and maybe flesh out our characters. Nothing too serious. Actually bother to fill out the stuff below. If you think its a drag, this isnt for you. Ok? Great.

Anything else?:
Some character ideas you have swimming around your head. Feel free to post more then one but just show me you care about your character.
Player Age 18 up?: Yes Sex: Female Experience with D&D: 6 years playing dnd 5e, 1 year dming 2024 Good mic/head set?: Not streamer quality, but not a Walmart mic Fluent English?: Yes Anything else?: I really enjoy combat in DnD, but most of my fun comes from roleplay and flavor. I'd say I like a 40/40/20 split between combat, roleplay, and exploration. I try to make decisions in and out of combat as my character, but I'll always prioritize group cohesion above and below the table.
Character
I'll preface this section by saying that I'm happy to fill whatever role or class the party composition is missing. I've played most of the classes and enjoyed each. I'm also a character sheet junky, so if the characters I've described below don't make the cut, there's plenty more where that came from. I'd also be happy to create a new character to suit the campaign and party.
Name:Aggimak Race/Subrace: Orc Class/eventual Subclass: Bard, College of Creation Short Bio: Aggimak was born to a clan of orcs caught between the Old Rites of Gruumsh and the innovations of newcomers bearing riches and splendor. Though her clan engaged in trade and some degree of diplomacy with other races, their traditions and social hierarchy were still ruled by overt displays of power. For a child born sickly and weak, there was only one path that offered honor and acceptance: the Path of the Shaman. So it was that Aggimak was given to the clan's spiritual leader in her early childhood to learn the ways of magic, tradition, and history. Though she had an innate talent for channeling the arcane through performance, oration, and her clan's ancestral smoke tricks, she never quite fit in with the culture of her people. When it came time to follow the Coming of Age Ceremony, she instead broke ties with her people and sought the comforts of urban life, only to find new challenges and tests of strength. After a few years of growing pains, she established connections with the underbelly of Waterdeep and began work as a private detective, putting her quick wit and survivalist mentality to work for the lost and desperate of the sprawling city.
Name: Jahir Race/Subrace: Human Class/eventual Subclass: Warlock, The Hexblade Short Bio: Once an ardent follower of Kelemvor, Jahir tended to the resting places of the dead and the hearts of the grief stricken. He dedicated his life to upholding the balance between life and death and healing those who teetered on that thin line. One day, his purpose was violently uprooted by the incessant whispers of the damned, beckoning him to take up his censor and light incense for their souls. He knew it was a trick, but as the whispers grew more desperate night after night, he succumbed to their influence, and his life purpose was twisted. Now he struggles to maintain his sense of self against the hungry, warped souls within his sacred instrument that call out for the life force of the living. (Side note: Originally, this character concept was made as a back up for a Curse of Strahd campaign.)
Name: Brody Smith Race/Subrace: Human Class/eventual Subclass: Paladin, Oath of Glory (Maybe a smidge of Warlock on top) Short Bio: Born to salt of the earth farmers who lived miles and miles from the nearest city, Brody wasn't born into greatness. He was a simple boy living a simple life amongst simple people, but he was always just a little stronger and a little faster than the other boys his age. Farm work became mundane by the time he'd hit his teenaged years, and wanderlust began to set in. One day as he was searching the forest for firewood, Brody encountered an injured horse and helped to mend the beast's wounds as best he could. He was clumsy, but sincere and guileless in his compassion, and the horse revealed itself to be a celestial unicorn. The two became fast friends as the unicorn healed, and Brody began to learn to channel his innate strength of will into power to help the weak and defenseless. Once the unicorn returned to the celestial plane, Brody left his childhood home in search of adventure and wrongs to right.
i want to paly sharp shooter or a monster hunter that like box her hunts
johnny Appleseed & ebony Vernon
human & orc
Johnny is a marksman that prizes himself on clean kills. As a bounty hunter he tries to keep his bounties alive. He used to be a face for a company of bounty hunters, The lackey for everyone. Now he gets his shot at the big time to get the bounties that actually matter. Now that he's off the chain he can know flourish
Ebony is a hunter of the highest caliber not relying on the normal means of hunting. She thinks most weapons and most tools of the trade are for weak men when you have the best God-given gifts to weapons. Monsters have various types of ways of hunting that are unique why don't we primalize ourselves to their level. Make it the equal playing field and have a fair fight.

Character
Name: Cade
Race/Subrace: human
Class/eventual Subclass: rogue w- wiz dip
Short Bio
Cade is the youngest of 3, he has two older sisters Castille and Felicia. His sisters run a museum in Baldur’s gate (OR WHEREVER), the “Archive of Ages”. Castille runs the business as curator and registrar, Felicia is an archivist and conservator, tending to the individual relics. Cade’s speciality lies in procurement. Cade prefers the more hands on approach, why sit in a room all day, cataloging dusty relics or setting up exhibits when you can be given a generous stipend and a long leash to procure the artifacts. Cade was well known to take his time, returning after months with little to show. Lately he has been feeling Castille’s wrath, and disappointed with his “work” she put out an ultimatum – produce some value or be cut off financially from the family. Desperate for leads, Cade got entangled with the zhentarim, unfortunately they were quick to keep any valuables for themselves. Cade made a deal that the Zhents would keep the originals but allow him to study them to make forgeries for the museum.
His forgeries did not always pass muster and he was soon found out by Felicia, who demanded he stop with his forgeries and to start replacing his fake artifacts with real ones. This leads to his final trip… Cade found a lead to a temple of Tymora, located outside of Baldur's gate and rumored to contain a valuable artifact: The Kismet Coinlace - a pectoral composed of multiple coins, each unique. Cade hatched a plan where he created a fake artifact first and brought it along with him, looking to swap it out when he found the real one. Cade got his chance as he entered a ceremonial chamber, he had slipped ahead of his crew however he found the pectoral was incomplete, missing most of its coins. Nevertheless he quickly made the swap, but the crew was not as far behind as he thought. As he hastily tried to explain his way out he backed into a wall and his hand, still clutching the real artifact activated a touchstone. The floor in the chamber awakened with glowing runes in a circular pattern. Cade thought to use this distraction to make his escape but one of the coins in the artifact had somehow come loose, and bounced on the floor, hurtling towards the center of the room. He stepped forward and reached out to grab it, his foot passing the threshold. The room disappeared, he was surrounded by colors, and then, he blacked out. Where he wakes up is for you to decide
Experience: Played some before, but my skill level is reduced to full newbie by now
Good headset/mic: Yes, sufficiently.
Fluent English: Yes
DISCORD: sunflowers_n_strawberries
Character:
Name: Dessie
Race: Halfling
Class/eventual subclass: warlock/fiend patron
Disclaimer: I currently for lore reasons have Dessie making a Fiend Patron pact during her backstory, without changing any abilities or anything at lvl 1. If the DM is uncomfortable with this and would prefer to put the lore aspect of it at level 3 like normal, I can adjust.
Short bio:
Orphaned at a young age as a result of a bandit raid, Dessie was adopted by a childless elven couple. Both adoptive parents are healers, lawful good type of beings, and want Dessie to train in the magical arts and follow in their footsteps. Even though she devotes herself to this path, she shows little to no magical aptitude, even learning from a variety of different mentors. While she explores other trades, she is wholly obsessed with holding mystic power and eventually violates her own morals to reach this goal. Signing a pact with a seemingly-less-evil demon, Dessie gains the power she wants; when her adoptive parents discover how she attained this power they are so ashamed that they disown her and cast her out. Barely scraping by for the next six years, Dessie's patron eventually leads her toward an adventure - something that seems beneficial for both of them.
Experience with D&D: Played 2 campaigns both lasting about 8 months
Good mic/head set?: yeah
Fluent English?: Yep
Anything else?: not that i can think of, not as mundane as i seem from these answers- trust
At the end of the day I'll play any class i got tons of character concepts but here are my top 3
Some character ideas you have swimming around your head. Feel free to post more then one but just show me you care about your character.
Character 1
Name: Pipwick “Pip” Nackleford
Race/Subrace: Forest Gnome
Class/eventual Subclass: Bard of Eloquence but he thinks he's a cleric
Short Bio: Pipwick Nackleford was not born into faith; he was found by it. As a young gnome with more curiosity than direction, he wandered into a gathering held by a group calling themselves The Assembly of the Unmoored. They spoke gently, dressed plainly, and promised structure to those who felt adrift. Their teachings centered on a divine presence known as The Lost One—a god not lost itself, Pip always clarifies, but a god meant for those who are. The Assembly had ranks, tithes, initiations, and mentorship under “Fathers” and senior clerics. Advancement required dedication, recruitment, and financial contribution. Pip excelled at all three. Over time, Pip began manifesting divine magic. The Fathers proclaimed it proof that The Lost One favored him. Pip believed them.
He now travels as both missionary and representative, seeking new members who seem uncertain, lonely, or spiritually displaced. He speaks warmly of community and purpose, offering belonging before asking for commitment. He does not see the greed at the top of the hierarchy; to him, structure requires resources. He genuinely believes he is helping people find something sacred.
Summary: Bro's in a cult and he don't know it
Character 2
Name: Patch
Race/Subrace: Geppettin Plush
Class/eventual Subclass: Rogue Assassin
Short Bio: Patch was crafted in a modest workshop by a toymaker who blended practical craftsmanship with minor construct magic. The enchantment gave him awareness, simple autonomy, and the ability to follow instructions, but over time he developed a personality of his own. He helped around the shop at night—tidying tools, organizing shelves, and keeping an eye on the door. Being small and soft-looking meant people rarely paid attention to him, which turned out to be useful. After his creator passed and the shop was sold, Patch found himself changing owners several times, quietly observing how the world worked and learning to move unnoticed when he needed to.
Eventually, those skills turned into work. Patch takes contracts carefully and prefers clean, efficient jobs with minimal collateral damage. He’s practical about it—no speeches, no theatrics. But around the people he trusts, he’s surprisingly warm. He perches on shoulders during travel, offers blunt but well-meaning advice, and insists on being the one to keep night watch so his companions can rest. He enjoys simple things: being carried in a coat pocket, sitting by a campfire, or being absentmindedly mended when a seam comes loose. With friends, he’s chatty, dryly humorous, and protective in a quiet way. To strangers he’s just a worn teddy bear. To his allies, he’s Patch—and he’s got their backs.
Character 3
Name: Rurik Ashbrew
Race/Subrace: Cthonic Tiefling
Class/eventual Subclass: Monk of the Drunken Master
Short Bio: Rurik Ashbrew arrived at a mountain monastery as a teenager. The monastery wasn’t quiet or ascetic in the way most people imagine. It was practical. Many of the monks were goliaths and dwarves, and brewing was part of daily life. Alcohol wasn’t forbidden or glorified- it was simply woven into their routines. The Way of the Drunken Master there focused on controlled imbalance: learning how to recover from missteps, how to stay aware when your body isn’t perfectly steady, how to fight without stiffness. Rurik took to it naturally. As a Chthonic tiefling, he had a strong sense of physical grounding — he was steady on uneven terrain and hard to knock off his feet. The structured approach to drinking suited him. It was measured, intentional, and tied to training.
He stayed for years, trained hard, and earned his place. When his foundational instruction was complete, he left on pilgrimage, as most monks from the monastery do. The idea is simple: skill means little if it only works on familiar ground. Rurik travels now to test what he learned against the unpredictability of the wider world. He drinks regularly, but not carelessly. To him, it’s part habit, part discipline, and part comfort. He’s friendly, direct, and quick to step in when someone stronger starts leaning on someone weaker. He doesn’t see himself as reckless or troubled — just practical. The world is unsteady. He learned how to move with it.

Name: Soupy
Race/Subrace: Elf
Class/eventual Subclass: Rogue
Short Bio:
Soupy and her younger sister inherited a flower shop / interstellar smuggling business from their grandparents, who raised them. They grew up in a working class, tight knit community who rely on the smuggling for potions, medicines, and other bits and bobs they can’t get locally. Since the passing of their grandparents, Soupy and her sister have co-run the operation, with Sarah (Soupy’s sister) handling the flower shop front, and Soupy organizing the smuggling (managing orders, shipments and deliveries). Soupy is dedicated to her local community, and would do anything to help them.
Soupy is in her mid-thirties, and has never left the planet before. Her recent ex-girlfriend left her for a job out in space, and since then, Soupy has been more and more curious about what is out there. Soupy and Sarah's smuggling business deals primarily in procuring ingredients grown on planet Sojourn. This fits into the world of smuggling insofar as imports from Sojourn are sanctioned by Home's mage academies, who have monopolized the trade and distributed foraging rights to a few "trusted" (read: highly wealthy) individuals. Soupy has inherited her grandparents' teleportation protocol to Sojourn and their contacts on the planet, but their ex was the one actually traveling off-world. Before the ex left, she suggested that the flower shop had been somehow compromised and that her departure was a matter of necessity.
