Total newbie looking to start playing - can someone teach me?

Hi, I’m completely new to d&d, wanted to play for years. I have 1 character, an elf rogue that someone helped me create, and no clue what to do next. 

Is anyone open to a beginners game/campaign or is able to teach me how to play?  Preferably evenings (GMT) or weekends.

Haha lol, same, my friend made a wood elf that is obsessed with cupcakes.  I don’t understand the game either but can I still join the run?

Hello my name is Leland and I am an experienced professional DM/GM (25+ years) recruiting for a new paid game on Sunday afternoons at 3PM EST which is a time slot that I have found often works for my European players.  I have years of introducing new people to the hobby, with handouts to make things easier and willingness to teach the game itself as well as character creation and using a Virtual Table top
