Artiya - Heavily Homebrewed Ongoing D&D 5e 2014 game on Sundays 17:00 GMT (Adjusting for UK DST)

Duration: 4-5 hours

Style of play: Artiya is a combat and roleplay heavy campaign, where people take their characters and the world seriously, with a heavy focus on plot, combat and character development as well as exploration and discovering the rich history and lore in its homebrew world of Artiya. At the moment the characters are level 13, and we have a slot open for another player to join.

The campaign is fully homebrewed using D&D 5e rules as a baseline - most people play custom classes, and the enemies are also custom made. If you do not like homebrew, big numbers, difficult combat, powerful abilities AND powerful enemies, this game is not for you. If you want to play something standard class & race-wise, items and other balancing will be done to accommodate it - all official WOTC content allowed.

The combat is difficult and mechanically heavy, with an aim to feel like a Dark Souls combat where winning is hard earned but satisfying. However, that does NOT mean the campaign is a meat grinder. Death is meaningful and returning often comes at a price, but the aim is not to permakill PCs on purpose.

Roleplaying is done both in session, and between sessions via text (pc to pc, pc to npc).

Roleplaying is realistic - actions have consequences, decisions matter, and the world changes as you act within it; the world also moves on even if you do nothing. Artiya is alive. Beginners and experienced players are both very welcome!

Main premise: Artiya is a world of might and magic, of history that spans eons, from the birth of the gods to present day. Its kingdoms have grown and flourished in peace...until now. A Dark Star is rising above Artiya, threatening to swallow it whole and throwing the world into strife and war. A plague called the Shadain is spreading across the land, fiends have started being active again, and all the kingdoms are looking at each other suspiciously. A band of adventurers seek to stop the Dark Star, will you be one of them?
