Starting Next Friday on April 3rd at 0800 EST [GMT -4], I am running two mini-campaigns with 2 players currently signed up.
I need three fine folks to create Characters at Level 4, preferably Characters that are suited for exploration and possible extra-planar adventure (with emphasis on 'possible'). The first of these Mini Campaigns should be 6-8 Sessions in length and will have the Characters attempting to waylay a very well guarded merchant caravan bound to reinforce the Zhentarim at one of their outposts just outside Baldur's Gate.
The second Mini Campaign will be between 10-13 Sessions in length and will have the same Characters upgraded to Level 8 and will begin with the Characters being imprisoned by the Red Wizards of Thay mere hours before they are sacrificed to become undead henchmen of a Necromancer known as Shi'Ghat the Grey. A last ditch escape attempt may give the Characters the ability to regroup and save the other soon to be victims from a plan to attack the City of Splendors - Waterdeep!
This is a heavy role-play group that features a few homebrew rules to help speed up combat and to allow for some narrative input by the Players. Here are the details:
* Beating the target's AC by 5+ results in a Critical Hit. * Every other Combat Round, there will be a Scene Shift - something to change up the flow of combat for the dramatic. Maybe reinforcements arrive or the enemies suffer from poor morale after a devastating first round. Whatever it might be, it will favour the side that performed the best from the last Combat Round. * Heroic Inspiration stacks: you may save up a number of these equal to one-half your Character Level. * Every third Heroic Inspiration provides the play a Hero Key - the opportunity to change one aspect of the narrative based on their last Skill or Attack Roll. A Successful Attack might result in the foe being disarmed. A Successful Investigation roll might allow the Player to say that they find two clues instead of one.
We have a dedicated Discord and Campaign Page here on D&D Beyond and we use Maps here as well as our VTT. Join us for adventure not soon to be forgotten!
...and if you enjoy these Mini Campaigns, you can ask to join our on-going Campaign when we begin again at the conclusion of these adventures.
I am interested in your game, and I am looking for a on-going long term game to join. I do have a couple of questions. You can find me on Discord at Remm#8521.
