Game: D&D 5e 2014 Group type: Online discord 18+ Game is a long campaign to level 20 Experience: 2 going on 3 years Location/Time zone: (CST) Schedule: (available Saturday and Sunday 3PM CST normally through 7 or sometimes 8. Games can run a little long.) Roles sought: Player-Game is already in progress. I have four other players level 7. I’m looking for a fifth. Game style: Balanced Roleplay and Fighting. Overall mystery. Friendly to new players.
This is a 5E 2014 game with elements of homebrew in relation to items and some spells/abilities. The current players I have are on Session #34. I’m pretty laid back overall, just looking for another player to add to the group. Please respond to the questions listed below. Thank you have a good day.
PS ( There are no wrong answers, I like to gauge play styles and cater to the characters style. This helps me do that.)
PPS (If you have more questions as I know this is pretty broad, please feel free to DM me.)
What character are you thinking about? Can be as little as race/background/class. Or full backstory if you want.
You find 6 magic rings. Do you split them with the party or keep them yourself?
What is your experience with DND? (None is okay)?
What is something you want to see in the campaign?
What is something you do not want to see in the campaign?
My namis Katie - on discord as ktfezz5710. I'm very interested.
1. I have played everything but sorcerer and wizard. I loved being a barbarian in my last campaign but Rogue is by far my favorite. All subclasses of it are awesome. Background of a noble trying to prove themselves can add some neat characteristics to the character - used to money being no problem, being catered to, not used to rough conditions,
2.If I can identify them I'd keep the most powerful that works for me. If I can't I'd try to coerce the party into giving me what I want.
3. 6 yrs as a player and avid watcher of actual play. 2 long campaigns going 2 yrs each alongside many small ones. Experience with total hombrew and RAW games.
4. Good comraderie In the RP with sprinkles of backstory mysteries. Combat that doesn't take a whole session is a nice thing.
5. I have a few hard no topics but they're fairly common. Children in danger and sexual abuse. I've been in campaigns where players quit without discussing the reason and never explain - not cool at all.
6. I started watching Critical Role midway through Campaign 2. During Covid I delved deep Into rules and making characters on dndbeyond. I had a friend group on discord and an acquaintance of someone ran a 6 session disney themed campaign i loved. Been hunting online games ever since.
7. The DM/GM should set the beginning of a scene and gently use npc's or other things such as perception checks to guide the group to the "problem". Add details, background, narrative, and make the story enjoyable and the world more real so the players can immerse themselves better. And the most important-make everyone feel that they are included, an important character, respect their boundaries, and check in if there seems to be a problem. A DM should be a friend, not an untouchable master.
