Hello! I am a veteran DnD 5e and 5.5 player. I am interested to join your game =). I am an RP heavy player who enjoys exploring worlds and stories DMs make as well as fun combat they create.
Here are some character ideas I have:
First character. (Using Grim Hollow Sourcebooks if allowed)
Name: Yith of Razum
Race: High Elf
Class: Wizard (Daemonologist)
Gender: Female
Background: Scion of the Thaumaturge
Backstory: Liranali as she was once called, was a young elven girl from an obscure village called Razum. She was a strange child who was obsessed with books and her toys more than the people around her. She was always haunted by terrible nightmares, and after a terrible tragedy wiped out her village, she was taken under the wings of a wizard who sought to take her as a servant for his library. One day she discovered a forbidden book and from there her life turned towards the dark and the twisted. She became obsessed with death after she lost everything she knew. Using the forbidden book she was able to summon a terrifying devil called Mel'gaiath also known as the "Lord of a Thousand Lies". He tutored her in the dark arts and turned her dark and hollow heart towards the path of all that is demonic and fiendish and she in turn is exploiting her newfound powers to learn of the truth behind the curse that drove her village to insanity and led them to kill each other. Though turned to darkness, she learned to keep her dark beliefs to herself to join forces with whoever she can join in order to further the goals of her master, uncover the secret behind the plague of insanity, and most of all reach higher powers and become a mistress of darkness.
Second character. (Using Forgetten Realms: Heroes of Faerun)
Name: Saerphia
Class: Sorcerer (Spellfire Sorcery)
Race: Aasimar
Gender: Female
Background: Spellfire Initiate
Backstory: The star-blessed descendant of the heavens was born to a loving, well-to-do family. Yet, her remarkable birth proved to be a burden as she grew of age. Her brilliant golden eyes, and her fair, heavenly features signaled to all around her heritage, and that in turn caused people to flock to her, falsely believing her to be the savior who would cure all that ails them. At first, she was glad to help in what little way she could, but in times where she couldn't she was accused of playing favorites. Any explanation about the truth of her being and her not possessing the sort of powers they believe her to have fell on deaf ears.
Things turned from bad to worse after her magical powers awoke within her in a raging tornado of weave that burned down a portion of her town before she could seize control of it. This turned her from a promised savior into a pariah shunned by all who knew her. Leaving her family with no option but to leave the town.
The final nail in her old life was when she discovered that her father Valokan was a secretly a malevolent wizard and worshiper of Talos who was actually far older than she believed and that he sought to mate and give birth to weave-marked children in order to capture and harvest their powers as an offering to Talos and to grow his own powers in order to ascend even higher for a nefarious purpose she has no idea of.
Third character:
Name: Syrinith
Class: Rogue (Assassin probably)
Race Drow
Gender: Female
Background: Criminal
Backstory: Syrinith youth is a tragic tale of a heart seeking warmth where there is none. Born to a cruel world and in an even crueler society, she learned to trust no one and to fight tooth and nail for whatever scraps she could find just to live another day. As she grew she learned the truth depths of the treachery and vileness of her fellow drow and how if they ever learned of how weak and merciful she could be, she would be tortured and slaughtered. And so she chose to wear a mask. A mask of stoicism, a mask to hide the pain of guilt and the tears of her misdeeds as she sought to do whatever she could just to live for another day, as she longed, day after day, to escape her people and to escape the darkness that gnawed at her soul.
One day as she grew strong and capable, she was sent along with others of her kind to raid a town on the surface world. During the battle with the town's defenders, she defected and stood against her own people to prevent the slaughter of the innocents. Though they were defeated and were forced to retreat, they swore that she will never be able to live in peace and safety ever again. That she was marked by Lolth herself for her treachery and would be sacrificed and slaughtered for what she did.
The town's people cast her away after they saw what she looked like and thus she was forced into exile. Now, hiding from the world and from the presence of her kind, she struggles every day just to exist, just to remain alive in this bleak, unforgiving world of hers. Yet, her weary heart is content. For her heart no longer cries at the torments she inflicted upon the underserving, no longer forced to do terrible deeds just to ensure her survival. And even if tomorrow came and she would perish, she would do so gladly knowing she escaped the terrors of her past.
