SEEKING: Friendly (emphasis on that as I have had to deal with quite a suprising number of players who WEREN'T while DMing here) non-beginner, players, who are 18+, for a long term homebrew 5e campaign. The campaign has been going on for about 35 sessions so far, but scheduling conflicts have caused a couple players to have to leave. So I’m seeking to find a three heavy roleplayers. Please do not reply if you are going to be a lurker sitting in the background. (ALSO our party just leveled up to 5th this last session)
ABOUT ME: I’m relatively new to the whole DnD scene – Know the basics, Good at crafting worlds – Use a bit of homebrew rules, and will periodically experiment with tweaking rules and such to make the game flow better, hone my craft, if you will. If the changes aren’t working as I’d hoped, I will immediately revert back. (Will absolutely inform players before I do tweak anything however. Don’t want to surprise or confuse.)
STYLE: This game is going to be a homebrew medieval high seas campaign. A campaign that should have a level of fun and frivolity while also being dark and dangerous. (For resurrection, I’m going by the “each resurrection spell is only available for a spell caster to cast once in their life” – thus maintaining a finality of death coupled with player choice). I simply ask players to not attempt to ruin the more intense moments with bad jokes xD
STORY CONCEPT: We are a group of nobodys who set sail to seek a divine artifact adventurers are scouring the seas for. This artificat is capable of granting to each member of the crew that finds it a single wish. We are also sailing on a cursed ship that may or may not be demonic, working with a ghost who also dwells within said ship. In classic RPG fashion, there are 7 sacred markings, on 7 elemental islands scattered across the sea, which must be retrieved, in order to unlock the pathway to said divine treasure ^^
CHARACTERS: Looking for Neutral Aligned Characters. (I also ask that we keep genders in this campaign simple – Male/Female, He/She – I have a difficult time keeping all this balanced in reality and thus don’t need the stress of trying to remember fictional characters genders) {Tho I have no objections to a guy playing a female/she fictional character.} This youtube clip should offer help with creating backstories if help is desired. https://youtu.be/vNA6iB6lO1w?si=we2H_ncnIQ_MF--k (There are also a couple NPCs traveling with the party that the players have invested much into)
REGULAR TIME: Normal meeting will be Wednesday Evenings (likely 5-9pm or so EST). Flexibility is a bonus, as my schedule isn’t as consistent as I would like (thus requiring moving to Monday evenings at times if Wednesday evening becomes unavailable that week – on relatively rare occasions hopefully xD)
REQUIREMENTS: We will be using DnDbeyond for Character Sheets and Roll20 for our VTT, as well as Discord for our Mics.
{Note: Campaign will not be map heavy but I find a VTT is useful for combat scenarios. Thus, this will require the use of a computer, so I politely ask that you only respond if you have one that can handle it.)
DESIRE: Story is whacky and weird enough. Not looking for joke characters. Seeking the kinds of characters you would find in a typical fantasy world. Also, this is a good, clean, violent campaign. {So there will be no swearing or cussing allowed}.
RESPONSE: If you are interested, please respond here with:
Your discord name/number so I am able to reach you.

How much experience you have at DnD
Any idea what type of race/class you'd like to play
Potential Character Ideas (along with the wish they might want granted ^^)
My current players are rogue, a monk, and a wizard ^^
POST NOTE: This is a "Long Term" campaign, so please only express interest if you plan on sticking around. I've had way too many people ditch me after only a couple months or as soon as there is a slight bump in the road... after I put a great many hours, and much in session time, working thier backstories into the world.
POST POST NOTE: Please make sure you read the whole post before replying, because I'm going to be assuming you are aware of everything that it says on here. ^^
1. My discord is avaddonn if you'd like to contact me.
2. I turned 22 in January.
3. My experience with dungeons and dragons mostly consists of being a player in the beginning of some campaigns with online buddies that didn't last a couple of years ago, an ungodly amount of hours in games like Baldurs Gate 3 and a good amount of watching Critical Role. I've also delved a lot into the rules of the game over and over, and watched some videos to help me since I started DMing online for my two real life buddies since we're all studying in different parts of the world from eachother. However, I have been playing in RP heavy games and servers in games for the last like 8+ years.
4/5. I am considering a Halfling Bard to help match the vibe of your current party! Since you want a neutral-aligned party I'm imagining someone that's in it for the pure love of the game, the kinda guy that you ask to go be your distraction that thinks he can talk his way out of anything even when everything's coming crashing down around him. As for the wish, I can't imagine playing as a character that 'chases' power nor even fame, so I would have to think a bit more on it. Whatever the wish ends up maybe being I imagine something maaaybe obscure, a kind of 'I wish to never be bored ever again' or 'I wish to never be alone', something simple. This would be the guy that values his friendships above all, even if and when it ends up stinging him in the end.
My favorite settings are high-seas pirate stuff, and though I've some experience playing I think I'd really be in this to meet some people, contribute to a great vibe though most of all I want to learn and get more confident with playing d&d instead of watching other people play all the time.
Feel free to DM me if you'd like to get to know me better before deciding if I'll fit into your group, though i want to clarify that I don't consider myself a 'heavy-heavy roleplayer', though Roleplaying is 100% where my interest with dungeon and dragons lies, I just don't feel like I've gotten there just yet, or rather had the right chance to.
Race - Depends : Do you allow third party content? (I only use stuff on D&D beyond if that helps, nothing outside of that) might just be wildhunt shifter Class- Cricle of the dragon Druid/ Barbarian path of the Primal but playing mostly frontline rather than support, though of course like every druid I will have some good support and utility spells. though This character is meant to be a tank.
Potential Character Ideas- (this one is hard cause I would need to know more about the world setting. I really like to intergrate my characters seemelessly into your world without complicating it lol,) Him and his brother have been blessed by a dragon, the relation to each other is like the 2 fish of Pisces. their connection runs deep, but his brother is missing, what happened to him is unknown, but his absence causes my character resltess nights, migraines and strange visions. His wish is to be able to find his brother again and reestablish the bond that was forged when they were blessed by the dragon. mystical bond aside, he does love his brother as he's the only family he has left.
Disclaimer- I really want to play the gunslinger class on DND Beyond, so if you will allow it, I would like to create a character around that, If you don't use firearms, I'm okay with using just crossbows, bows, or even a harpoon for the high seas theme. And if you don't like either of the options above, I can easily think of other character ideas. If you are looking to "Balance" the party i can create a character for it, or if you dont care I can easily also create another character for the flavor of the campaign.
