In a small, fertile valley in the northwest of the Cliffkeep Mountains is a small village founded by Tal’Dorei homesteaders just ten years ago. This simple settlement of Reaching Bluff is inhabited by hardy folk seeking new places to mine gold and iron from the earth. Many unpleasant exiles from Kraghammer have joined them, so while this village has a charming, rustic atmosphere, few travelers stay for long. The hostility toward outsiders is palpable to all.
This insular attitude has only grown more hostile following the discovery of a gleaming dodecahedron about the size of a human head. One of the miners who unearthed it found that her pickaxe barely scratched its surface—and when struck, it began emanating a radiant, internal golden glow. This mystical object was returned to the village foredwarf, and before the day was out, all the villagers had learned of it. The people of Reaching Bluff call it the Lost Beacon of Unknown Light, and worship it as a god.
Might wanna do a short starter campaign beforehand so be ok with that. Just to see if we all mesh well.
This is a place where if you go, you go for a reason. What reason could your characters possibly have for traveling to such a remote place? Are they on the run and want to get as far away from civilization as possible? Perhaps you are an adventure sent to investigate the sight of giantkin in alarming numbers starting to make movements. Were you sent by the Ashari of Terrah or the other three tribes to investigate this Lost Beacon of Unknown Light? Or perhaps you were sent from another continent all together where the tales of such a beacon sparked interested in a certain Dynasty? whatever the reason, this seemingly insignificant village will be remembered as one of the sparks to light a great fuse. One of many pebbles that will unleash a rumbling. The Rumbling.
Alright, you will be starting at lv 3 and rolling for stats. Your stats must have a combined total of 72 with at least one score being a 15 or higher. You re roll until both requirements are met. 2024 rules will be used but your stats and starting feat wont be determined by your background. You can choose those as you see fit. It is one of the few things about the new rules I don't like. Post application here as mentioned below.
I hope to make a campaign where we can have fun and hopefully become a group for future adventures and junk.

Bio (Try for a decent paragraph or two. Your background is a large part of whether or not ill even consider you.):
I was born in Elarith; just outside of the capital region of the Aelthirion Conclave. We are known for remembering what others have chosen to forget. Father was an educator in the capital on the natural sciences and mother was a military strategist for the region. Our multigeneration family home builds around the Vaelthir, our family crypt and forest. The home is built out of the natural earth and woods of the land by singing our spells to mold the environment to our needs. Each forest member is the living memory of our past ancestors. We sing open the tree to walk down to each individual family member's crypt.
Father: Thamior Vaelis College of Sciences: The Caelthirion Enclave Collegium Mother: Iriandel Vaelis Military Site: The Elarion Ward Older Sister: Saelith Vaelis Me: Kaelion Vaelis Mage College: The Ithariel Conservance Younger Sister: Nymoriel Vaelis
We sing our magic to mold the environment to our needs, we give back to the environment, the trees, the animals, the water, the air, our life force in this process. Because we are literally infusing our own essences into the lands we inhabit, we are extremely protective of the natural balance of our lands.
Central to our culture, we are to memorizing the names of past generational families. We recite these each other to see who is an extended family when we meet new high elves we have yet to know.
We appear politically neutral to the outside world due to our geopolitical strategies of government can take centuries to unfold. Zenophobic but welcoming to outsiders for commerce, political requests. They can visit but not stay.
Marrying outside of the race is unacceptable. Marrying outside of your culture is frowned upon but not unheard of.
Our women and men are all militarily trained. Neither sexes are inherently stronger than the other in physical or mental or magical capabilities.
Social politeness and decorum is paramount to a race as long lived as ours since slights can linger for decades.
Extreme displays of emotional outbursts are one of the high points of rudeness.
We have no need for deity worship as we have discovered that the control of magical forces are not from deities but of the nature of reality itself through willing of the mind and using incantations to focus and direct the willing of the mind. Ties to deities and pacts with magical entities just helps amplify magical spells since the individual has limited access to the penetrate the barrier to access magic for their spells.
What other races call "deities" or "devils" are just magical beings that are as interested in the geopolitical affairs of these races as those races are to a colony of ants. This explains the moral indifference of these magical beings to these races' geopolitics.
Governance are not viewed as authority, but as temporary alignment of personal will with communal necessity. It is not shameful to step down from political office. It is considered ethical clarity. A successor is selected by consensus of capability, not ambition. “The people are larger than any one name.”
Reason for travel: Study of our ancestral lineage and histories, I discovered entire volumes of texts missing about a specific time period of our founding family members. These discovered truths could have geopolitical implications for our current political strategies and our responsibilities to the world we pulled away from. These members may have been involved in the Curse of Bragenhold. We may have discovered the creation of vampirism due to researching the longevity of our race but its inability to reach immortality. “We sang to preserve what should have passed. And now the song will not end.” My own personal journey is to find ways to heal the minds of soldiers that have lost too much in other people's wars.
Anything noteworthy your character has done to get to lv 3?: He's gained ground on his research into the elven magics of life extension that may have inadvertently created the conscious undead in the world.
Things you or your character want to do or experience: He wants to setup a healing hospital of the mind as well as a network of geopolitical contacts within the regions that help push governments away from hierarchical theocratic and family leadership and more towards secular governing bodies.
