In a small, fertile valley in the northwest of the Cliffkeep Mountains is a small village founded by Tal’Dorei homesteaders just ten years ago. This simple settlement of Reaching Bluff is inhabited by hardy folk seeking new places to mine gold and iron from the earth. Many unpleasant exiles from Kraghammer have joined them, so while this village has a charming, rustic atmosphere, few travelers stay for long. The hostility toward outsiders is palpable to all.
This insular attitude has only grown more hostile following the discovery of a gleaming dodecahedron about the size of a human head. One of the miners who unearthed it found that her pickaxe barely scratched its surface—and when struck, it began emanating a radiant, internal golden glow. This mystical object was returned to the village foredwarf, and before the day was out, all the villagers had learned of it. The people of Reaching Bluff call it the Lost Beacon of Unknown Light, and worship it as a god.
Might wanna do a short starter campaign beforehand so be ok with that. Just to see if we all mesh well.
This is a place where if you go, you go for a reason. What reason could your characters possibly have for traveling to such a remote place? Are they on the run and want to get as far away from civilization as possible? Perhaps you are an adventure sent to investigate the sight of giantkin in alarming numbers starting to make movements. Were you sent by the Ashari of Terrah or the other three tribes to investigate this Lost Beacon of Unknown Light? Or perhaps you were sent from another continent all together where the tales of such a beacon sparked interested in a certain Dynasty? whatever the reason, this seemingly insignificant village will be remembered as one of the sparks to light a great fuse. One of many pebbles that will unleash a rumbling. The Rumbling.
Alright, you will be starting at lv 3 and rolling for stats. Your stats must have a combined total of 72 with at least one score being a 15 or higher. You re roll until both requirements are met. 2024 rules will be used but your stats and starting feat wont be determined by your background. You can choose those as you see fit. It is one of the few things about the new rules I don't like. Post application here as mentioned below.
I hope to make a campaign where we can have fun and hopefully become a group for future adventures and junk.

Bio (Try for a decent paragraph or two. Rather than serving gods, institutions, or traditions, he believe hierarchy is an inevitable force of reality—with himself positioned at its peak. He prefers calculated action over emotion, and see most people as either assets, obstacles, or subjects yet to be brought under order. He is calm, deliberate, and rarely display open emotion. If it's ok I won't really provide a direct char just because I have quite a few and I usually make a brand new one for campaigns anyway to really make them fit in. I also prefer to just see what others are choosing so I don't potentially grab someone's fav class (I know you can have duplicate classes, but most people will feel inclined to pick a different one).
What I can let you know, is that I usually play races from the Monsters of the Universe book and/or Dragonborn, but since we are doing 2024, I suppose that means Dragonborn then! I also tend to pick Spellcasting classes, rarely ever picking purely martial ones. I like my spells! Druid being my fav with Wizard being second fav.

Born under a celestial omen, she grew up guided by instincts and visions she didn’t fully understand until a wandering priest, Seren Valis, revealed her divine heritage. With that knowledge, she chose to train both her body and spirit, becoming a disciplined hunter of threats that lurk beyond the safety of civilization.
Now traveling as a protector aligned with the Dawnwatch, Minmial is calm, observant, and driven by a strong sense of duty. Name: Orrian Vaelithar
Race/subrace: High Elf
Class/subclass: Oath of the Ancients Paladin multiclassed with Clockwork Sorcerer
Bio (Try for a decent paragraph or two. Your background is a large part of whether or not ill even consider you.):
Orrian Vaelithar was born beneath the luminous canopies of Syngorn, where time itself seemed to drift more slowly and deliberately than in the outside world. Like many high elves, his life began in quiet study, steeped in tradition, magic, and the perfection of form. Yet even among his people, Aelarion was… different. From a young age, he perceived patterns others could not. The rhythm of falling leaves, the precise interval between heartbeats, the geometric symmetry in spellwork—these were not merely observations to him, but truths. Laws. Certainties. The world, he believed, was meant to function in perfect balance.
Orrian traveled to Emon, where the scars of past destruction had given way to rebuilding. There, he found purpose among those striving to restore structure to a fractured world. Though not yet bound to a formal oath, Aelarion pledged himself to a personal ideal: To impose order where chaos reigns He trained alongside knights and guardians, learning martial discipline to complement his innate arcane gifts. His fighting style is precise and deliberate—each strike measured, each movement efficient, as though guided by unseen calculations.
He walks the roads of Tal'Dorei not as a wanderer without purpose, but as a seeker of hidden truths—threads of order woven beneath a chaotic world. He is drawn to ancient sites where the boundaries between planes grow thin, believing these places echo with the fundamental laws that shape existence. Ruins touched by forgotten magic, dormant ley lines, and relics tied to the structure of reality itself all call to him.
Anything noteworthy your character has done to get to lv 3?:
On the eastern trade road between Emon and the wild frontiers, a small settlement known as Larkreach Crossing fell into quiet crisis. Caravans arrived at the wrong times—or not at all. Crops failed in strange, repeating patterns. Livestock wandered in perfect circles until they collapsed from exhaustion. To most, it was misfortune. To Orrian, it was pattern deviation. Investigating the region, Orrian uncovered a partially unearthed ruin beneath the crossing—an ancient site predating modern Tal’Dorei, its architecture marked by impossibly precise geometry. At its center lay a dormant plannar regulator, a device designed to maintain balance between the Material Plane and forces beyond. It had been disturbed by a group of scavengers that had unknowingly removed several keystone components, causing the mechanism to fall out of alignment. The result was not destruction—but systematic errors, time delays, behavioral loops, and cascading failures in natural processes.
Descending into the ruin alone, Orrian attempted to restore the regulator. But without its missing components, the system began to collapse entirely. The device activated in a last, desperate state, and time fractured around him. He saw multiple outcomes unfold simultaneously. The ruin shifted between states of repair and decay. His own actions echoed forward and backward in sequence
For a brief moment, Aelarion stood on the edge of losing himself entirely—his mind fracturing under infinite possibility. Then, something answered. Not a voice, not a being , but a principle. A perfect, unyielding logic—like the turning of endless gears beyond mortal perception. A fragment of the cosmic order underlying all existence aligned with him, not by chance, but because he fit.
Where others would break, Orrian imposed structure. He began to choose an outcome and as he did each possibility collapsed into certainty. Each motion became deliberate. The infinite reduced to one. His magic manifested—not wild or chaotic—but precise. Arcane energy formed into rotating sigils and interlocking patterns. Time slowed where he willed it, accelerated where needed. The regulator’s erratic pulses synchronized with his own rhythm. In that moment, Orrian did not just wield magic. He became part of the equation.
Things you or your character want to do or experience: Find balance or figure out how to align his abilities within the Oath of the Ancients that he leaned about in Syngorn and the power that has awakened in him to help align order in chaos.
