Game: D&D 5.5e (2024) or 5e (2014) Group type: Face-to-face; might consider remote players if necessary because of IRL commitments or need to fill out table Experience: 2 years / originally played in the mid-80s, though Location/Timezone: Central NY - Rome area Schedule: I'm flexible. Trying to find a public place to gather a table. Could be days or evenings or even weekends depending on everyone's common availability. Roles sought: I'm a DM but enjoy being a player, too. I'd like to build a table of 5 people. Game style: Currently running a table in another area for 2 years. I homebrew my campaign using both WotC and 3rd party content, with some (little) personal tweaks. The other members sometimes DM their own campaigns or 1-shots. We meet weekly, more or less, but I'm flexible on that, too. We've established some table rules and aren't rules lawyers. That setup has worked for me so far. I prefer players who will roleplay but -- again -- flexible because not everyone is a natural performer.
I am not looking to be paid for my time as DM. This is my social hobby. The store I've contacted for possible hosting may have different rules about payment, though. I do accept food bribes, however.
I will homebrew the campaign I DM. I enjoy that part. I use Inkarnate to create my world, regional, and battle maps but don't expect anyone else to do the same. I don't have a preference for experienced vs new players, though experienced players have to be good sports and patient. I'm open to letting others DM homebrewed campaigns or 1-shots, or running existing modules. I do expect the table to use D&D Beyond for character building, though the Basic (free) subscription is fine, and we'll use Discord to communicate both outside (below) the table and inside an adventure (above the table).
