New to D&D and would like to join a group and learn how to play

I’ve been really curious about getting into D&D but honestly… I have no idea where to start. Like, zero experience. I’ve never played before, I’m not super confident with roleplaying, and I don’t really know how campaigns or parties work yet.

My boyfriend is really into it, and I’d love to understand what makes it so fun and maybe even play alongside him one day. So I figured I’d just put this out there and see if anyone is open to helping a complete beginner learn.

I’m 30 (not sure if that matters for groups, but just putting it out there), and I’m mainly looking for a chill, welcoming group that doesn’t mind teaching as we go. I’m totally open to learning, asking questions, and just trying it out without pressure.

If anyone has advice, beginner-friendly groups, or is willing to take in a newbie, I’d really appreciate it 💫
