Oredin is a land that has found peace through newly formed alliances. Over 800 years ago the land was united into the Valkarian Empire. 70 years ago that Empire fell when Emperor Karstifar Valkarian III died without an heir. The succession war between the noble houses was brutal and lasted nearly 3 decades. In the end each noble family retreated to their own lands forming small city-states and secluded kingdoms throughout Oredin. A tenuous peace followed but came to an abrupt end in 1826 when a number of significant conflicts erupted around the continent. These events pushed those isolated kingdoms into a tenuous alliance known now as the Lochert Coalition. Once again peace reigns, or so it seems.
The Elfhome of Umeris has been mostly secluded from all of this conflict. It lies in the southern bows of Avalia Wood. The elves there did not participate in the rebellion. They continued their quiet way of life as the world turned. Now, however, something stirs in the woods. The beasts have become more aggressive, Gnolls have been spotted roaming in the north, and something deep in the heart of the forest has begun to rumble...
I play a very player driven campaign. The players in my games really set the tones and themes that arise. They take the various challenges set before them and choose a direction. My games are typically balanced in the three pillars but lean into roleplay. Though it is played in my homebrew setting the world is pliable to the players and open to their exploration. My job as the GM is to guide the story and the players so that there is direction and growth.
