I'm a 40 something (he/him) looking for a group to join that would play weekly or biweekly, starting around 8:00 pm EST. Ideally sometime Sunday to Thursday, as my Fridays and Saturdays are often reserved for social and family events. As an older player, I do understand that with families and jobs that it can sometimes be a challenge to fit in time to play TTRPGs, so I'm looking to find a group in similar circumstances. I do my best to be flexible where I can for when other players at the table can't make it, and I make sure to give as much advance notice as possible when situations arise that I'm not able to attend.
In terms of the game I'm looking to play, currently I'm seeking either a 5/5.5e game, be it homebrew or pre-made (I've currently played Lost Mines of Phendelver, Waterdeep Dragon Heist, and Storm King's Thunder so far). I like a balanced mix of role play, combat and explorations/puzzles, and really enjoy collaborative play both with the other members of the table and the GM/DM. I'm open to playing with new players (always a good thing to help grow the hobby!), and I don't mind working with the group to make a character that works well with party cohesion, though I do have a few concepts in mind to play around with as well. And in the interests of being transparent, I'm not really looking for any Westmarch style games, heavy survival and realism based games, low or no fantasy games, or games that heavily feature PvP style combat. And in order to save people's time, I am not looking to join any game that is Paid.
In terms of my experience, I started in my teens with FASA's Mechwarrior, moving on to West End Games edition of Star Wars, then onto Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition, to 3/3.5e D&D, some Shadowrun, Pathfinder 1e, Star Wars D20, then 5e and Pathfinder 2e. I haven't had a chance to play in the 5.5e ruleset of D&D but I am familiar with it. I'm also a big fan of Sci-Fi and Fantasy in general, being an avid reader and movie/tv show buff, so that's had a big influence on my love of TTRPGs and gaming as a whole.
If you think I may be a good fit for your game or table, and if you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. Good luck to you all on your adventures!
