Game: D&D 5e (2014) Group Type: Roll20 VTT, DDB Character sheets, Discord communication. My Experience: Veteran DM, dozens of campaigns, 6 completed long-term paid campaigns. Your Experience: Any level from complete beginner to grizzled veteran is more than acceptable. Basic knowledge of the Wildemount setting is obviously beneficial, but also not required. Location/Timezone: Eastern US Time Availability: Mondays and Tuesdays, any time between noon and midnight. Preferred role: DM
Game Description: The Dwendalian Succession is a game of equal parts personal intrigue, factional politics, and monster slaying heroics. There will be a very heavy focus on politics and RP where the choices you make and the allies you forge will likely be more impactful than any stat on your character sheets.
The core premise is as follows: The year is 852 PD, and King Bertrand Dwendal has just died. His son and only heir Prince Eidys has formally refused the throne. In doing so, he has caused the Dwendalian line of kings to come to an abrupt end. Unbeknownst to most of the nation, even those near the very top echelons of power, a contingency was made for this eventuality between Betrand's ancestors and the Library of the Cobalt Soul. The Soul has taken regency over the Empire until the end of the year. At the end of the year, Ioun herself shall take stock of the people's wishes and anoint a new sovereign of the Empire! Already many dozens of candidates have thrown their hat into the ring; from the Cerberus Assembly's new Archmage of Civic Influence, to a righteous fire-and-brimstone Lawbearer preacher, the Underbaron of Grimgolir, a mob boss from Shadycreek, a radical agrarian farmer, and many more, all vying for the hearts of the people.
The party's place in all of this is up to them to determine. Will they find work with one of the frontrunners and hope to simply bring stability to the realm as quickly as possible? WIll they find an idealistic lesser candidate to throw their weight behind and try to bring about a brighter and different future for the continent? Will the party themselves throw their hat in the ring? Or, perhaps, will they do their best to deadlock the whole system and cause Ioun to declare the Empire ungovernable and bring the whole shambling behemoth to its knees? That will be up to you, I merely put the pieces on the board. It's up to you all to play the game!

This is a paid game at 20 dollars a session. Each session will last 4 hours with a 15 minute break somewhere in the middle. VTT is Roll20, chat and audio is via Discord with a dedicated server.
