Homebrew Campaign (Online) Friday (every other week) Time (TBD) 5.5 Rules

The party wakes up, confused and unsure of where they are, they are from different corners of existence different planes and realms, now that they found themselves in this strange new realm, they must discover what force brought them here, if there is a way out alongside the particularities of this realm.

(This is an XianXia Homebrew campaign in a world that most characters would find odd and confusing. The Lifespan of your character might come into play)

We will play using Above vtt (a browser extension that gives dnd beyond access to maps like roll 20) that works on edge/chrome/opera and most browsers
We will also use Discord Voice Chat
The campaign will be a mix of RolePlay and Combat
The campaign will start at level 3 (5.5 Rules), I won't ban any official/partnered race, class, or subclass, but the challenge level will stay more or less consistent, so if the party is strong, the obstacles they face will be harder.

This is a free campaign by a DM with a few years of experience (not great with voices)

Would want to play a human paladin of whatever god would fit in the campaign and I most like interesting stories and player interactions in a campaign. Good for any times for the next few months

If this falls on approx 8-9pm EDT start Iam in... I can play anything but would like a human barb or rogue...many years experience and running a campaign now but want to play...I like all styles of campaign... also not a rules lawyer at all....

Rogue with a back story:

Born into squalor. "Moo" was abandoned by his parents. He tried to live an honest life all the while being very poor. They could not handle "Moo"'s constant need to take that which other's had for his own. "Moo" who is Poised and Stable but quite boastful with a possibility to be rash at times has somewhat tempered this need to "own" everything. "Moo" survives by stealing and makes an adequate life from it. If "Moo" cannot decide who owns something it means it is probably his.

"Moo"'s sole possessions from childhood sent with him when his parents had had enough of him and which he holds very dear are 2 copper toy soldiers with one missing a head. When very stressed and needing to think his situation through he will rub them with one in each hand. He has vowed to never tell anyone the mystery behind why these small objects mean so much to him.

"Moo" has no use for the local thieves guild or any guild for that matter unless he is "caught" not "Checking" in then he will weave any detail to soften the situation. "Moo" feels these organizations do not deserve his hard earned coin.

"Moo" would love to track down his parents just to prove how they never ruined his life yet at the same time has "matured" into a "finer" individual that no longer "steals" "other" peoples possessions.

I am curious because I am at a settle point and I don't want to be there....lol... the settle point is a D&D 3.5 Steam Punk Campaign... hopefully enough said. I would rather this one but need to settle the urge to be a player not a DM'er...lol...

Depending on rhe timezone id be interested.  Been playing on amd off since THAC0 so have some experience lol.  Ive had a concept for a Eldritxh Knight woth the Investigator origin for awhile thst combines gritty detective Noir with a fantasy edge (not for the gun aspect but using the whole "city under siege by crime"  vibe). I kind of see him being from a city that is medieval version of Chicago/NYC/Atlantic city at the height ofnthe Mob.... criminal organizations running around..... some cops on the take....others trying to hold it together (same for the politicians) .  Im not looking to go wild with the race ....simple High Elf.  I like a well rounded game ....but I also enjoy "rule of cool" moments (you roll damage on a hit and get max damage which in this case is 2x what the monster has left so DM says the swing is perfect and severs the monsters head ....or you try to push the barrels over in a warehouse to hlblock the path of those pursuing you, you roll and get a nat 20 so DM states rhe barrels were already little off balance so they fall and roll knocking 4 of the 5 enemies down thereby making them lose initiative this round ).  Im also a set dressing character creator.....for example I had a character who was a sailor whi carried a cutlass, mechanically it was a scinitra but when described it looked like a pirate cutlass... the look didnt change the way it worked but did make the character stand out.so please ifnyou still have room id like to join.  My discord is valdimaarhranissonryan

The streets are wet and dirty....the air smells of unwashed bodies coal smoke, rotten fish and despair. The mismatxhed buildings close in upon you as you walk so the streets are deep in shadow even on a sunny day...not that there are too many sunny days here anymore . But that's normal in the Lower Wards ...doubly so in The Warren's. Ahh yes the Warren's where any open space ithat isnt a road is taken by either a shelter made from whatever you can scavenge tp keep the weather out or a stall selling mystery meats to hungry people. How do I know, I grew up here....im Bazrhym Girmenghast, son of Lorindel, son of Dharmeth, son of ...who cares amynore and I am a Constable . Well at leasti WAS a Constable before the accident. Yes im a Elf ,...let me guess the ears gave it awsy. Yes, im actually a High Elf.....no, not all High Elves are blonde haired blue eyes ephemeral beings of Light and Love .... some of us are dark haired balls of suppressed anger and resentment with dark eyes and shattered dreams. Wow you are perceptive ...I do have scars...lots of them .... though most you wont see. Look, unless your in for a round why dont you go drill a hole in your head and let the sap run out ....now toddle off and let me drink. Yes I did say I was a Constable at one time .... walked a beat from the Old Docks to the Warehouae District .... but thats the past. Yeah, sharpneye...I do still carry my badge ...amdnifnyou look a little lower you'll see the my offical trucmcheon too and if you don't want a wooden shampoo I recommend keeping your eyes and your hands to yourself.  Yeah I did hear about that Orc Kneebreaker they found  with both arms shattered tiednup outside one of the Warehouses.... maybe he shoukdnt have tried to extort protection money from Old Grolka who sells the meat pies on Tinkers Way .... she's really nice for a Tiefling amd makes amazing meat pies......
