Game: D&D 5.5e Group type: Online Experience: New or experienced players welcome Location/Timezone: Eastern Time (EST) Schedule: Thursdays at 6:00 PM EST. Sessions run approximately 3 hours. Consistent attendance is important. Roles sought: 2-3 players Character level: Level 5
UPDATE: 1 full slot left but will still be entertaining replies for potential bench positions in the event of drop-outs. Thank you all for your interest and I apologize if I haven't gotten back to everyone individually! Please send me a message apart from your post reply if you're still interested and I'll get back to you asap. I also have a few other questions / qualifiers that I want to make known:
2024 compatible characters only - I have a lot of shared sourcebooks available for players to use so they won't strictly be limited to PHB but due to the animations and automations in my Foundry game, I will be limiting homebrew as I don't have the personal bandwidth or time to get individual attributes properly working with the systems and animations I have in place.
Capable PC or Laptop is required. The Foundry game I host requires hardware acceleration so a capable Laptop or PC is required (touchscreen phones or tablets will not work). It's nothing too demanding and I recommend my players use this app if they're playing on a setup that's older or without dedicated graphics: https://foundry.ruleplaying.com/flc

Cost: Free. I DM as a hobby because I enjoy building immersive experiences and telling stories with a good group of players.
Campaign
This is an established campaign with a stable group that has been playing together through Dragon of Icespire Peak. As that story concludes, the campaign is expanding into a larger Sword Coast adventure, making this an ideal entry point for new players.
The party is currently nearing the conclusion of Dragon of Icespire Peak, but that adventure is only the launching point for the larger campaign.
New players will be joining at a strong transition point as the story moves into its next phase. The campaign takes place in and around the Sword Coast and blends exploration, roleplay, mystery, character development, and tactical combat.
Your DM
I enjoy creating immersive, story-driven adventures where player choices matter and the world reacts to those decisions. I reward creativity, teamwork, and character investment, and I strive to create a game that feels cinematic, engaging, and fun for everyone at the table.
I maintain detailed campaign notes and work hard to ensure new players can integrate smoothly into the story and group dynamic.
Foundry VTT Experience
I put a significant amount of effort into the technical side of the game. This is not just voice chat with a static map.
I am also the developer of a published Foundry VTT module and enjoy building custom solutions that enhance gameplay and immersion.
High-quality maps, including animated maps
Dynamic lighting and environmental effects
Soundscapes, ambient audio, and music
Automated traps and encounter mechanics
Elevation systems and multi-level environments
Streamlined automation to keep combat moving
Custom Foundry enhancements designed to improve immersion and gameplay
Play Style
I aim for a balance of roleplay, exploration, and combat. Player choices matter, and the world reacts to those choices.
Players who enjoy teamwork, character development, problem solving, and engaging with the world tend to fit in well.
Looking For
Reliable players who can attend regularly
Team-oriented personalities
Players willing to engage with the story and other characters
Respectful players interested in a long-term campaign
If interested, please send:

Your preferred playstyle Tactical for combat and like to explore/ learn about the world
A level 5 character concept you would be interested in playing: a jerbeen Fey Warlock who got their patrons blessing from a chance encounter in the woods and telling her stories, after which she gave me a little bell to talk to her through and tell her of all the adventures i go on
Any questions you have about the campaign: none at this moment
This sounds like exactly what I've been looking for.

Experience level: i have been playing D&D since high school so 1990's
playstyle: i can adapt i like to role play and of course problem solving and combat are peak.
Level 5 character concept: i had an idea as a surprise character where my character is introduces as a chained zombie/undead to a spell caster in the group where i would follow along attack enemies when commanded and only grunt or moan until the reveal later i have been a Lessre Kytton (chain devil) in disguise the whole time yes technically this would be a homebrewed race but there are stat block online i can find for it the alignment is lawful evil so he would behave in party dynamics would just have to use disguise self in public settings like a tavern. if this seems too nuts i can make a different concept this one was just a fun idea i was thinking about. class would be a blood hunter chain devils derive pleasure from pain as a part of their nature so every time i would use blood maledict in combat you get the idea
I would love to be included in your campaign as it starts to ramp up Thursdays is my permanent day off at work so i will never miss it unless an emergency happens.
Been playing on and off since the days of THAC0 (yes im a bit older). Im a merchant at Medieval Faires in real-life so travel the eastern seaboard (im EST). I usually try to create characters that stand out ...be thst with aet dressing (weirds a calvery saber ...mechanically its just a scinitar but the look changes ) or from the concept up (Halfling Barbarian ..... parents died in an orc raid on the road...found by local barbarian tribe in the wreckage .... raised by the tribe....given the name Kneecapper) so like a mix of story/rp and action. I have a conceotnfor an Elven Fighter (Eldritch Knight) raised in a town where corruption is on all levels .....joins the Watch.... sees the corruption first hand and refuses to look the other way .... framed and stabbed in the back....survives and becomes a Private Investigator and Troubleshooter . On Faerun that'd be Westgate on the Dragon Coast ....easy to explain he flees the city after being framed again and heads to the Sword Coast.
Your timezone: EST Your D&D experience level: Played 6-8 online campaigns Your preferred playstyle: I like a good balance, I enjoy plot forward and exploration. I like my games to have jokes but not to be joke. By that I mean keeping the game out of slapsticky, zany, cartoony realm. I don't try to kill questgivers and npcs or act outside of character norms, its not really fun storytelling.
I like to learn about my fellow players characters and interact with their stories. I try to give my characters some motivation to be inquisitive and want to play with the team.
Character Concept: I have a treasure hunter style character, who has spent their time procuring relics for a family museum. Sometimes the relics make it to the museum, sometimes they are forgeries and sold to other parties. I can give as much or as little backstory as you want.
This is a character that wants to search dungeons, explore cities and take risks for big rewards. They bite plothooks :)
Class-wise I am looking at a rogue/wizard multiclass, looking to explore the Thief subclass new fast hands feature.
Any questions you have about the campaign: not up-front, would have plenty if you are interested.
Not sure if you're still taking anyone but! I would be interested in playing!

Your D&D experience level
About two years, more on and off games in person at college and some online. I'd say it's about like six months since I played 5e (2014 edition), so I am very new to the newest one!
Your preferred playstyle
Roleplay, character voices, banter, the so on! I really enjoy immersing myself into the world especially when it comes to more political intrigue games and games with a good amount of homebrew or content. I tend to like playing conspiracy theorist characters who are eccentric or a little kooky but mean well, especially if I can construct conspiracy theories of the plot that moves my character and motivates them to investigate further.
A level 5 character concept you would be interested in playing
Goliath sorcerer, specifically a Storm giant descended Goliath with a subclass in either spellfire sorcery or wildmagic! It depends on which would be preferred, I can play Wild Magic instead. Though I am considering a bit of a dork, named Narea Skychaser Vanemi-Lorone, who is an adventurous spirit from birth that had been born touched by the weave. Narea was treated differently but not maliciously so, she was at an advantage some weren't- and reminded of such. I haven't quite fleshed out the idea for it but! I think I'd like her to have left her tribe after an incident in where she had caused an accident, nothing major but that caused a setback for their travels. No one was found for fault but the guilt was enough for her to come to her chieftain about it, who had heard her and informed her that it would be best if she found a means to get rid of her magic, to journey out and return when she could no longer feel the weave.
Any questions you have about the campaign
Nothing that comes to mind honestly! Just if you have any banned feats, subclasses, or books.
Your D&D experience level: I have played on and off since AD&D, and have been playing 5.5e pretty regularly since its release. I've played on many VTTs, but like playing on Foundry the most. Thus, I'm really looking forward to playing with your group, if you'll have room for me!
Your preferred play-style: I'd like to lean into RPing my character, but strategize when in combat, and use humor and wit to make memorable experiences.
A level 5 character concept you would be interested in playing: I would be interested in playing either: (a) a fanatic female Dwarven Valkyrie-inspired War Cleric (whose motto is "fighting is always a (possible) solution"), or (b) a baby-faced Aasimar Light Cleric whose goal is to find hidden things, and reveal them.
Any questions you have about the campaign: (a) is the next portion of the campaign a published module, or homebrewed? (b) any modified rules to be aware of? (c) is character creation, point-buy, standard array, or rolling?
Experience level: i have been playing D&D since high school so 1990's

Concept : Vorn, the Self-Declared is a rogue modron Clockwork Soul Sorcerer created from the soul of Elias Vorn, a human who erased his identity to become one with Primus. Born from that surrendered soul, Vorn began developing individuality, fled Mechanus, and now exists as a living contradiction: a construct of perfect order learning what it means to choose, feel, and become a person.
