⚔️ The Pitch

Nearly 300 years ago, the Empire of Golden Dawn fell to the barbarian hordes from the north, all its wealth, knowledge, and technology lost forever to the dust of the winds. Since then, the roving clans have settled and grown lazy. Petty kingdoms, duchies, and baronies vie for power in a never-ending struggle for a unified crown that will never come.

In the small, lazy frontier stronghold of Heatherdawn, Duke Hagrid Rothnorgarn rules his lands like a washed-up battlelord—spinning tales of his glory days and chasing court maidens while his sons and nephews scheme behind his back.

Because the Duke is too busy living luxuriously to deploy his army, the local borders have fallen into chaos. Fell beasts, rogue curses, and ancient terrors are encroaching on the local fields, mines, and villages. Desperate to keep his vassals from revolting, the Duke has put out a call for elite, specialized monster hunters, sellswords, and occult experts. It is in this rowdy, neglected fortress that our heroes, all guided by circumstance, will form a specialized crew to hunt down the terrors of the frontier... one monster at a time.

🕒 Game Schedule & Format

• The Gameplay Loop: Each 2-to-3 session arc will focus on a specific, self-contained hunt. A local village reports a unique supernatural threat (a cursed werewolf pack in the timberlands, a forgotten imperial ghost in the mines, a bog-monster disrupting the trade rivers). The crew investigates, prepares, hunts, and returns to the fortress to claim their reward and roleplay their downtime.

• Live Sessions: Every Other Saturday night from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM EST.

• The "Between-Times" (Play-by-Post): We run active, text-based PbP roleplay threads in our Discord server between live sessions. This is used for character downtime, tavern shenanigans, upgrading gear, and deep backstory development so we can maximize action and pacing during live game nights!

• Platform: Discord (Voice/Video mandatory) + D&D Beyond for character sheets and digital dice.

🎭 What We Are Looking For (The Player Profile)

We currently have three players locked in and are looking for 2 to 3 more players to round out our hunting crew to a final party of 5 or 6. We are looking for collaborative, dedicated individuals who want to lean heavily into character-driven storytelling and immersive roleplay:

• The "Yes, And" Mindset: We want unselfish players who actively listen, share the spotlight, and lean into dramatic failures or character flaws just as much as epic victories.

• Technical Baseline: You must have a reliable internet connection, a functioning webcam, a clear microphone, and a relatively quiet space to play.

• Experience Level: Open to all! Whether you are a veteran or a brand-new player, if you have a passion for expressive roleplay and immersive storytelling, you have a place at this table.

• Party Composition: Looking for archetypes that fit a gritty-but-heroic mix of traditional sword and sorcery monster hunters—characters who excel at tracking, outsmarting, and defeating supernatural threats alongside our existing members.

• The Escapist Sanctuary Rule: This table is an escape from the real world. To maintain a focused, immersive fantasy environment, modern real-world political issues, contemporary religious debates, and real-world social commentary are strictly prohibited both in-character and out-of-character. We are here to explore the rich, complex fictional politics of Heatherdawn, not the news cycle.
