Game: Homebrewed D&D (any version is fine) Group type: Online (voice or text, you choose) Experience: I am a new DM, but I'd like to invite any player, whether new or veteran. Homebrewed characters are allowed since some of the NPCs are also homebrewed. I suggest having your character start at level 1-5. Location/Timezone: HKT Schedule: If you are in the US, I'll host campaigns in the evening for you. If you live much closer to HKT, we'll do it in the day (possibly early morning). We can discuss the actual schedule if you prefer. Just message me on Discord @rosyeve_ Roles sought: Small groups are preferred, but if I get more than a few players, I will make a server that schedules separate sessions for different groups. Game style: Roleplay, lore, worldbuilding, political intrigue, factions, mystery, social interactions, combat, dungeon levels, and random tables
PREREQUISITES: Playing Cards. You need to have your own set of playing cards (spade, heart, diamond, club). I would also prefer if you have real dice (or a dice roller from the Internet) and I'd prefer if you update your own character sheets yourselves as we progress. You may use whatever character sheet you'd like, digital or physical. We are not using Avrae. If you're a new player, I and more experienced players can help you. Sorry, I just like manual character sheets, especially when homebrewing.
The Campaign:
Magic College based on Cartomancy (playing cards divination) The Four Houses are Spade, Heart, Diamond, and Club (and Joker) Disclaimer: I am not a witch and I don't know divination. I just got the cards' info from the Internet. Students (Players): Adventurers, spellcasters, any species or class (including thieves/mercenaries)
There is a treasure hidden in a school/castle connected to the deities of the sun, moon, water, and earth. It was said that they grant incredible powers (or cost hundreds of gold). Some people went to school just to have a reason to be there and find the treasure. Does the school know? Yes, but they are so confident with how hidden it is and pride themselves in taking adventurers in and making them better than before by helping them level up to ten (number cards end at ten). Does it give students an advantage to find the treasure? Yes, but for many years, no one has ever found it.
Will you?
But be warned. Other people want the treasure for themselves. Some even go so far as to conquer the lands around the school to gain power over it, but to no avail. Factions form, people pull you from different directions to get you on their side, and even if you accidentally find a piece, a clue to the entrance to the crypt where the treasure lies, you will become everyone's target. And if things can't get any worse, something weird is happening around the school. Gravity is failing, the school is flooding, eclipses come and go, and the dormant volcano is waking from its slumber. It's as if the gods are fighting and everyone is caught in the crossfire. Some say that the only way to convince them to make peace is to open the crypt and unite the four gems: the sun stone, the moon stone, the sea stone, and the earth stone.
Will you find the treasure to save the school, or will you have a more selfish motivation?
It's all up to you! I hope we can have a fun campaign. Thank you, everyone!
I'm not experienced and I'm EST but I'd love to hear more about the world you're building. I've never heard of a campaign that uses playing cards, so I'm interested.
