Hey! This sounds really cool. I love classic Forgotten Realms material, and an enhanced Shadowdale adventure using the 2024 rules definitely catches my attention.
Before I throw my hat in, I had a couple quick questions to make sure I’d be a good fit:
Do you use battlemaps/tokens for combat, or is the game mostly theater of the mind? I’m very visual, and while I’m fine with theater of the mind for lighter scenes, I really struggle to follow combat without maps/positioning.
How combat-heavy/tactical is the campaign overall? I’m especially looking for challenging combat, dungeon-crawling, high stakes, and hard-but-fair encounters.
What level would characters start at?
What day/time are you planning to run sessions?
Is this a free game or paid?
A little about me: I’m an experienced 33-year-old player looking for a kind, fun table using 2024 5e. I enjoy roleplay and character moments, but I’m mostly hoping to find a game with tactical combat, dungeon-crawling, and people who can laugh when things go sideways. I like optimization and interesting builds, but I’m not trying to break the game or make the DM regret inviting me.

Hey yes I use battle maps and tokens through dnd beyond vtt.we have the first ever dungeon crawl above land with the the Dale lands! Ancient ruins of an ancient civilization lay everywhere the eye can see in the dense forests treetops. We have a 4 players and are looking for a fifth or sixth before capping off the only free session I plan to be running. So yes this session is free for Saturday 12-5pm central Chicago time please dm for discord and dnd beyond campaign link. You’d start at level one with another player that needs to run a level session with an additional player token character support.
