Ravenloft mini-campaign [Tuesdays - 6:30pm EST][5e 2024][Online]

Schedule: Tuesdays - start 6:30pm EST end 10:00pm EST

Roles sought: 1-2 additional players

I'm running a mini campaign set in the Dragonlance area of Ravenloft (no knowledge of either is needed to play). {This is the same area of Ravenloft as the recent DM Live Play but a  different story/time period). Ravenloft is a horror setting so there will be horror themes and situations.

The game is first person role playing, with good aligned heroes (Ravenloft powers checks otherwise), limited/no out of character, and a touch on the grittier side. I have 40+ years of xp as a GM.

Game is 2024 rules only. We started at level 4 using standard array (15,14,13,12,10,8; +2/+1 decoupled as per Tasha's). Existing characters are a human barbarian, an aasimir celestial warlock, an elven divination wizard, and a human champion fighter.

We use video as it greatly enhances the roleplay.

• I am assuming you mean camera feed.  Yes.  I can do that.  If I misunderstood the question, please let me know and I can correct my answer.

How long have you been playing table-top RPGs?

• hmp.... in 1984 I made maps for my older brother's game. He might not have ever used them, but I was excited to help.  Around 1992 or 94 I started playing with some guys in school, and that just came to be a us sitting around watching headbangers ball and smoking.  But, we played and had fun.  DOn't remember much of it though.  In the late 90's/early 2000's I tried again but couldn't find a solid game.  Years later, couple of games with my kids/nephew, I've been playing and running games as a DM for a number of games for the last 2 years.

What will your species, class, and subclass be?

• I think it'll be easier to list who I won't  play as I'm looking for someone new.  No sorcerer, or rogue.  Maybe an artificer if you need one?  I like the idea of a chrono wizard or necromancer as well.  Really, I can be flexable as needed.  But, if you are looking for something specific, I've got a Aasimar psi fighter and a Reborn Necromancer Wizard partially created and ready to go if you give the word.  Or I can pull any number of characters out of my reserves depending on what you want/need.

Briefly tell me a little about your hero in 2-3 sentences:

• ok... 2-3 sentences for each character.. okay.
  So, Aasimar Psi Fighter.  He's part of the Zhentarium mercenary guild.  Being a body guard for the rich and elite, he has had a string of bad luck.  Think, failed marriage.  kids hate him.  He had to sell his family home outside of Waterdeep to pay for his drinking habit kind of bad luck.  Not that he has a drinking habit, but he is far from perfect and you could say his life is falling apart.
  The Reborn is a bit different.  He doesn't remember much of his life before being re-animated, but now he must learn the secret so he can bring back his son from the dead.  In full disclosure, he is the BBEG in my long term campaign and I've always wanted to do his backstory.  But, if we had to give him a specific historical timeline, he (before he was re-animated) was from 7th century Amn where his step brother overthrew him as ruler of the country and branded him as a Usurper.  But, that's as far as the history books describe him.  The truth is far far worse than just being run out of town destined to wander the shifting sands of Calisham.... oh no... far worse.

• Both would be Chaotic Neutral, willing to be pushed to evil if it comes up. or be saved....
