A little bit about me: I used to play D&D and Pathfinder years ago. It's been quite a while, and most of my experience was in person and in French.
Recently, I got back into FFXIV and have been really enjoying the roleplay aspect of it. It kind of rekindled my interest in RP. Not that I'm any good at it, but as far as I can remember, I always tried to play the character, not the player. I never really enjoyed playing with min-maxers, so I'm hoping to find a group that's more focused on storytelling and having fun.
That doesn't mean I want 100% roleplay either—I enjoy combat, exploration, and everything else that comes with the game. As for the setting, I'm pretty open. Fantasy is my preference, but whether it's a homebrew world or a published campaign doesn't really matter to me.
I'm not sure if the Critical Role craze has passed, but the last time I looked for a group, it felt like everyone expected to recreate Campaign 1. That's not really what I'm looking for or expecting.
Since I haven't played in a long time, I'll definitely need a bit of guidance, especially since I don't currently own any of the books or materials.
Character-wise, I already have a few ideas, but I'm more than happy to fill whatever role the party needs or even join an ongoing campaign. I usually come up with most of my own backstory, but I'd also love for the DM to take some creative liberties with it and surprise me.
I also love doing accents and voices once I get comfortable with the group.
As for availability, I'm free pretty much anytime, so scheduling isn't really an issue. I'm looking for an online group, have a good microphone, and I'm happy to use a webcam if the group does.
I'm also very open to trying other TTRPG systems. I just don't know many of them yet, so if you're willing to teach someone new, I'm always happy to learn.
Hopefully I'll find a group soon!
