Hello! I'm looking for one or two players to join an ongoing long-term homebrew campaign after one of our players unexpectedly had to leave.
We play over discord and use Roll20.
The campaign takes place in a large non-grimdark universe filled with competing factions, forgotten civilizations, ancient Aeons, and cosmic forces that shape reality itself. Every major organization has its own goals, history, and influence, creating a world that feels alive beyond the players' actions. The story leans heavily into mystery, exploration, challenging boss encounters, and uncovering secrets that have remained buried for over ten thousand years.
This is a very lore-heavy setting. There are unique factions, cosmology, damage types, powers, and mechanics that differ from standard D&D. You are not expected to understand everything immediately, in fact, your character probably won't either. A lot of the campaign is about gradually piecing together how the world works. Although, nearly all of the important lore is written down within the discord server, and available to read at any time.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Ask as many as you need, even if you think you're sounding like a broken record. I'd much rather explain something again than have you feel lost or left out. Nobody at the table is expected to memorize pages of lore, and I enjoy helping players understand the setting.
What I offer as a DM:
A story-first campaign with meaningful player choices.
Challenging tactical combat, including custom bosses and mechanics.
Extensive worldbuilding with mysteries that reward curiosity.
Rule of Cool where appropriate, while still keeping rulings consistent.
A collaborative environment where players can contribute ideas and shape the world through their actions.
The current party is Level 7, and we'll work together to create a character that naturally fits into the story.
If you are interested, go ahead and fill out the questions below and send them to me on discord: cletusw
