Experience: new-ish to DMing, about 6 years as a player, plus some text-based RP experience
Location/Timezone: Eastern Standard Time (East coast US)
Schedule: I'm available on Sunday afternoons and evenings, exact time would be determined once I have a full group, probably every other week or monthly though.
Roles sought: 3-4 players
Game style: more character stuff investigation and puzzles than combat.
About Me: Hello, I'm Owl (she/her)! I'm an education major in her late 20s who's been playing DnD on and off for about 6 years now, mostly as a player. I've DMed a few oneshots and shorter adventures but I've been wanting to do a longer campaign for a while and the idea for this one has been sitting in the back of my brain for a few years now. I work in childcare so I am *very* used to being asked a zillion questions that I may or may not be able to answer off the top of my head and explaining how to do things in detail, so I am happy to have new players lol. (I am also a yapper if you couldn't already tell from the paragraphs) I am generally pretty reliable when it comes to scheduling and letting people know of any changes, and I do expect the rest of the group to try to give a heads-up if they're going to be gone/late/leave early. I would prefer to play with people 21+, and do not tolerate any hate towards people of a different race/gender/sexuality/religion/etc. (even as a joke).
About the Game: The setting is an island continent with the remnants of a world-ending device and scars from the campaign to deactivate it scattered across the landscape, and occasional storms of wild magic that have been increasing in frequency. The tech level and general aesthetic is vaguely regency-era Europe but less guns and more armor. Without plot spoilers, I'm planning on starting off with a sort of monster-of-the-week format but as plot progresses, things are revealed as more connected than they originally seemed. I did come up with a sort of pre-set reason for characters to know each other (members of a knightly order) but if people have other ideas for their characters I'm all for it! I love the idea of including character backstories in stuff, and tend do more social RP, investigation, and puzzles than combat. I am open to running a oneshot or short adventure before going into the main campaign to see if everyone vibes/my style is what people want, and I am working on a lore document for any players who might be interested in that sort of thing. My games will never have super dark themes, and once I get a group I'll host a session zero to make sure everyone's on the same page about boundaries.
I would be interested in joining! Sunday afternoons are generally open for me and I have been looking for a game for a while.
Creating a character backstory for how all the characters already know each other is a big draw for me. Playing in Social RP and investigations are some of the most fun you can have in a D&D campaign. Let me know if I you end up getting this set!
Heyho! I'm available on Sunday afternoons if you're still looking for players. I'm relatively new, but have a lot of text-based RP experience.
Your world's setting seems very interesting and I'm very keen to get involved. My Discord username is .irkalla. - please contact me there as I cannot promise timely responses on DnD Beyond.
Hi! Sundays are normally a pretty good time for me to do things like this so long as it end before 8PM! I'm interested in joining and have a lot of experience both in DND and Text based role plays as both the DM and the player.
The world seems to be unique by my standards, normally I'm in a more nordic style campaign so I'm very interested in learning about the world more. I'm also curious to learn about what kind of world ending device was used.
