I’m new to tabletop D&D and am looking to join a 2024 (5.5e) play-by-post campaign. While I’m new to the tabletop side of the hobby, I’ve spent quite a bit of time learning the rules and building my character, and I’m looking for a group that’s patient and enjoys collaborative storytelling.
The character I’d like to play is Drogath Vhar, an Orc War Cleric (currently level 1). He’s a former Adjudicator of a religious order devoted to judgment and accountability. He’s stoic, disciplined, and believes actions should be weighed by their consequences. Despite being Lawful Evil, he’s not a disruptive or self-serving character. He values loyalty, keeps his word, protects his companions, and works well within a party. His alignment is intended to create interesting roleplay and moral discussion—not conflict between players.
I’m looking for:
2024/5.5e rules
Play-by-post
Roleplay-focused or balanced campaigns
A group that values communication and consistent posting
I’m happy to post at least once a day, often more when the game is active.
If Drogath sounds like he’d fit your campaign, or if you’re looking for another player, I’d love to hear from you.
Hi there, Drogath sounds like a fantastic character concept — thoughtful, disciplined, and built for meaningful roleplay rather than party conflict. Your approach to Lawful Evil is exactly the kind that creates interesting moral discussion without disrupting the group, and that’s something we really appreciate.
I wanted to reach out because while our campaign isn’t play‑by‑post, it does offer the kind of collaborative storytelling, character‑driven roleplay, and consistent communication you’re looking for. We run a West Marches–style game built around one‑shot sessions that naturally grow into larger stories over time. It’s all online through Discord voice, and players join sessions when they’re available.
A few details about our setup: • All characters start at Level 2 • We use a XP‑based leveling system • There are custom crafting rules for creating unique items from gathered materials • Sessions are live, online, and exploration‑focused • Story arcs exist, but players decide how deeply they engage with them • Strong emphasis on communication, cooperation, and shared narrative
While we’re not running 2024/5.5e rules or play‑by‑post, your interest in roleplay‑focused storytelling and party cohesion fits extremely well with the tone of our Marches. If you’re open to live sessions instead of PbP, we’d be happy to have you join us.

Either way, Drogath sounds like a compelling character, and I hope you find a great home for him.
