Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos in the World of Tsurina
This is the current map of Tsurina WIP, it contains the locations of each college that is a part of Strixhaven. The Central Campus is where you will be in your 1st year, it is near the city of GORB towards the top right of the map. The others can be found by their corelating symbol. Feel free to ask about any of the places if you have questions about your characters home. Oh and the oceans are wider than they seem :) Higher Quality image on discord.
Group Type: Online. I will be creating a Discord server to share & Roll20 will be used as the VTT, Along with the Beyond20 Plugin. I will be playing music through discord!
Module: Strixhaven: A Curriculum Of Chaos (will be greatly altered after First Year more details below)
Game: D&D Mix of both 2014 and 2024 but using mostly 24
Experience: I have been dming for nearly 9 years now, and all experience levels are welcome! New Players are also welcome!
Time-zone: PST
Schedule: We will be playing on Saturdays starting around 4/5 pm pst and going for 3-5 hours on average.
Roles sought: 2 Players
Game style: Strixhaven has a roleplay focus as your relations with npcs grant buffs or debuffs, however I will be adding plenty of combat and dungeons in the later years of your uni experiences. As for my dming style I am more relaxed when it comes to the rules, while they are very important in keeping things in check I find they can often lead to a missing of moments, so I do use the rule of cool and have multiple rule changes or reversions from the 2024 version back to the 2014 edition. Most of all you need not worry too hard about the rules for I will do my best to keep everything in check ps. none of us own Strixhaven on beyond
I currently have three well established players that will be participating. We already have a wizard, and a druid though these are possible to change. I use A LOT of homebrew, with spells items, and even a subclass I have personally made in dndbeyond up for grabs for all players. I will continue adding more because I like to make homebrew! There is also some community made homebrew in the collection as well, these are up for edits, and removal at any time. Should I edit something you liked and were using into something you're not a big fan of let me know and we can work on that by either finding a middle ground or allowing you to switch the spell when you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
Changes to Strixhaven
Strixhaven is in the world of Tsurina now, my own personal DND World that I've been using for forever. Plenty of detail will be explained if you make it to the discord server, but know this is not taking place in the forgotten realms. While I still use much of the lore from dnd the world is my own.
After your first year of Strixhaven a new club will be formed, The Arcane Archaeological League run by Dr. Wes Abernathy. This club provides extreme extra credit, though it comes with the classic dangers of dungeon diving. Make sure not to miss your exams, mid fight with a lich is no excuse!!!! (this is what I have planned for the major edits after year 1, players will be joining this club, find your own reasons why!)
The 5 colleges of Strixhaven have been split across Tsurina, with magical circles used to transport yourself between them. This adds a small bit of trouble if you happen to be late to class but should pose little gameplay changes.
As a module with many Timeskips the 1st year will go by faster than you might expect, but after joining the Arcane Archaeological League some of your timeskips will be replaced with expeditions into forgotten temples and other mysterious sites.
Strixhaven details will be further explained in the discord server. Thank you for reading thus far

• Experience level- a few online oneshots with friends as well as one full campaign, also played with a physical group in highschool for a year
• I have a few characters I've been wanting to use and haven't gotten to play or play to a satisfying point of getting to know them. I have a bard I'd like to give another shot (Bianca), a cartographer artificer that hasn't seen play (Thana), and I'm always open to creating something new when inspired.
• Species: Thana is a fairy (though wingless in her original concept), Bianca is a winter eladrin, if I create a new one I'm trying not to repeat any so I learn more each go around
• Thana is an artificer with the subclass of cartographer. Bianca is a Bard who is currently class of eloquence. Same with species, if I create a new one I'd like to try a class I haven't yet played
• Thana is a fairy who is heir to her family, but was kidnapped young and in original conception was robbed of her wings. Growing up an orphan, and living to work and find her place unaware of her true origins. There is an additional concept that was written for her original debut into being played, which can be discussed with the DM if they're interested.
• Bianca is a winter eladrin who grew up with scholars and archeologists as parents, traveling the world for their work and taking their children with them. Due to this she has an odd insight into many obscure and old things others might not. She's also, if there are Gods in this world, had quite the interesting interaction with one when she was younger. Perhaps being bestowed something she doesn't truly understand.

• I'm an avid note taker and got my start into d&d through my love of writing and roleplaying. So I've always been quite animated during campaigns and an active participant
I've been playing DnD (oneshots, cons, long term groups) for 6 years, my last long-term group ran for 3 years and disbanded about a year and a half ago and I've been looking for a long run campaign ever since
I have two fleshed out characters I'd love to use depending on party needs so I'll do separate bios for both (I also enjoy playing tank barbarians and fighters and would be happy to craft a character like that as well if no one has interest in that playstyle)
Mars (she/her)
Janus (any/all)
Species
Mars is a homebrew mothfolk race, however I'm open to playing around with her species! As long as she's something bug-like in nature as that was her original inspiration.
Janus is a Shifter (swiftstride), again, also open to shifting them around. For background reasons they just need some kind of ancestry based ability to change their appearance in some way (originally intended to be a changeling, however I know some GMs aren't a fan of the species so I shifted directions, though I would always love to return to their original intended ancestery)
Class
Mars is a Druid with a focus on healing/support
Janus is a Warlock with a large importance placed on their familiar Dianna
Backstory/Character Snippet - A quick fun fact is that Mars and Janus are siblings! However, their dnd characters were crafted for different universes and so they have very different backgrounds from each other, for the sake of presenting to unique options I'm using their separate backstories
Mars is the definition of happy go lucky. She's bright, she's bubbly, and it's her god given mission to make friends with anything and everyone. It feels like she lives in her own optimistic bubble of bliss, and is convinced the world would be perfect if everyone was friends and chose to be good people. Her strong moral compass and glass half full attitude can become its own fault in a way, she'll give the world a million chances to be good and then a million more when it doesn't happen the first time around. Her life hasn't been perfect so far, her parents died when she was young, but she was so young that she didn't really have time to miss them. Raised by her uncle with her older twin brothers, she was the shining star, the little sister to two brothers who seemed to determined to protect that smile. By the time she was old enough to go out into the real world, she was convinced that life would be just like growing up, that a positive attitude, and a heart full of care was enough to make the world a better place. And despite learning the lesson the hard way over and over again that that simply isn't the case, she's yet to drop her personal philosophy.
Janus is a wanderer. The type that's mysterious and charming, who clearly has secrets tucked under their belt, but their words are honeyed enough that it doesn't matter what secrets they may have. They haven't put down roots in a long time, leaving home after the death of their twin brother, leaving behind a sister who they love dearly and wracked with the guilt that they left her behind every day. The nature of their troubled past and secrets kept close to their chest don't matter much. They have their familiar Dianna, a gift from their patron the same day they left home, and a smile perfected with years of practice. You hate them and you love them all the same, and that's exactly how they want it to be. (I have a much more fleshed out lore docs of their backstory and personality that I'd be happy to share privately as well! Goes for both characters!)
My discord is tobyfoxtrot
I take a lot of notes, but they're usually a mess of random words and pictures, so I prefer to debrief verbally with the rest of the party rather than compare physical notes. I can't write a super detailed, legible account of each session, but I will happy lead a debrief post session, or a recap of what's happened thus far at the start of the next as long as I can talk it out! If it wasn't obvious by my character descriptions, I love playing characters who have plenty of reason to talk and get familiar with the party & world, and roleplaying is one of if not my favorite part of DnD! It's been a second since I've had the chance to play in a long-term campaign, and am prepared to be active in a new one!
Experience - I am currently involved in a weekly campaign that has been running since June 29th, and hopefully another biweekly campaign but that one has been having some issues getting started. Other than that I have watched actual plays from channels such as Legends of Avantris, World of Io, and Min-maxed.
I don't have any character ideas currently, but I usually play characters with a focus on support. But since I think that this amount of information is rather lackluster, I will put the characters that I have made for my other campaigns so you can get an idea on my ability to write characters.
My First Character (homebrew world campaign)
Eneko Zorion
Wood Elf
4th level Druid, Circle of Stars
Backstory: Ever since Eneko was young, he was taught the meaning of the stars. Often times Eneko would stay up late to gaze at the night sky, observing the constellations and interpreting their meaning. Eneko has been isolated from the rest of the world, only seeing people from a distance while living in a secluded cabin located within the eastern woods. His Isolation within the forest led to him preferring the company of the wildlife over people. As he got older he began hearing his parents reminiscing and telling stories about the outside world, and Eneko began wondering what it would be like to travel outside of his homestead. The thought started small, but began to grow and gnaw at his mind at every waking moment. Eventually, Eneko decided to pack some things and set out to explore. His parents were worried for him, but didn't obstruct his path. So Eneko set out to explore the world in search of new experiences, and new friends.
My Second Character (Lost Mines of Phandelver. [Sidenote: Things seem to be getting a little rough before the campaign is even starting, so I may make some tweaks to this character to better fit this campaign if that one doesn't end up working as expected])
Red
Infernal Tiefling
1st level Monk
Backstory:
Relevant homebrew org:
The Silver Wolves - An organization that takes children from their homes to train them to be powerful combatants. After the trainees pass a test they are branded with the symbol of the Silver Wolves, and then sent out on jobs as mercenaries. Most of the money made by the mercenaries is taken by the executives, who distribute a tiny portion of the earnings to the ones who worked for the money. While there is a method to leave the organization, it is a complicated process of necessary qualifications and paperwork, making it nearly impossible for the mercenaries to complete especially since many of them are not taught to read and write. The conditions for the mercenaries are often horrible, and the pay is practically non-existent, but escape was very difficult, and this place was all the mercenaries knew. There have only been a select few to escape the clutches of the Silver Wolves, whether through the long and complicated resignment process, or through evading them after bailing on missions, only the most talented, or lucky, individuals can live a life away from the Silver Wolves.
Red was basically born into the Silver Wolves, being taken just 1 year after being born. Throughout his childhood, Red was forced to undergo rigorous and unrelenting training with no room to fall behind. During his teenage years, he was sent to job after job, risking his life for people he didn't know, and for an organization he despised, all for the executives of the Silver Wolves to take every last bit of money the mercenaries tirelessly worked for. Red's adulthood was not much different, besides more difficult missions, but there was something stirring within him, something that would set him free. When he was 24 he worked a job that required escorting volatile substances within a mining compound, but there were many setbacks because of poor management, so the escort was rushing to be on time. The escort was making quick progress, but to do so they needed to stack all the containers of the substances on one cart, which provided the perfect opportunity for escape. As soon as this opportunity arose the feeling Red had for years suddenly blazed like an inferno, he knew what he had to do. Drawing on the power of his ancestry he shot a bolt of fire at the cart, which created a ball of fire big enough to be seen and heard anywhere within the mining compound, and a hole in the wall big enough for escape. Using the explosion as a distraction, Red leaped through the flames, through the hole in the wall, and into the mountains. Many hours passed before he stumbled upon a monastery, where he was taken in by the monks who lived there. For a little less than a year he lived with and trained under the monks, but he had already spent the majority of his life taking orders from others.

After every session I write down everything I can remember happened during the session, with an emphasis on important events. I want to start taking notes during the sessions, but im worried that I might miss another piece of important info. I can be quiet at times due to my anxiety, but I try my best to be involved and active.
