Game: D&D 5e or 5.5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: Texas, Central timezone Availability: wednesday or friday evenings Preferred role: Player Game style: about 50/50
Hey guys,
I'm looking for one or two groups to join on wednesday or friday evenings. I have some character ideas in mind, but also want to try out new classes through random stat rolls and see what happens. I tend to play team oriented and am very much Team Bahamut...
Campaigns I won't play in: Curse of Strahd, the new ravenloft, or Icewind Dale. I'm a player in a Curse of Strahd and in an Icewind and I don't want them spoiled for me.
Hard boundaries: No SA against anyone, or violent crimes against children. I'm also hardcore fade to black romance. I don't want to be stuck there listening to two people describe their fantasies... I read and write enough romance thank-you very much XD.
My main rule: I just want to have fun and I'm not afraid of yeeting myself from a group if it's toxic or I'm not having any fun.
If you have a player slot available, give me a holler on here or my discord: somegamerchick2982
Hello! Are you looking for a DM or a player? I saw it did preferred: player, but did that mean YOU want to be a player or you want other people to be the player? 🙂
Hi SomeGamerChick! I’m recruiting for a campaign that matches your Friday availability and several of the things you described.
The Burden of Fate’s Demand is a new, long-term D&D 5e homebrew campaign playing Fridays at 7:00 PM Central for approximately 3–4 hours. It is an original setting and story, so there is no risk of spoiling Curse of Strahd, Ravenloft, or Icewind Dale.
The game is highly collaborative and built around a party that works together rather than competing for attention. Characters are created as a group during Session Zero and begin as ordinary people without classes. Their abilities emerge through the opening story, so your willingness to explore a new class or let the character’s development guide the build could work particularly well here.
I do want to be transparent about one possible difference: the campaign includes meaningful combat, but it leans more heavily toward roleplay, mystery, exploration, puzzles, and character development than a strict 50/50 split. I have another table going through the same campaign and I would say that they've had about four major combat encounters (taking up half or more of a session) in the first eight weeks.
I take player boundaries seriously and use an anonymous pregame survey, Session Zero, Lines and Veils, X/N/O cards, and an open-door policy. The campaign has dark supernatural and horror elements, so I would encourage you to review the content warnings on the listing and message me about any concerns before committing.
This is a paid campaign through StartPlaying at $15 USD per player, per session. It has not begun yet, and four of the six seats are currently available.
You can read the full premise and content warnings, see my GM profile and reviews, message me with questions, or join here:
Your team-oriented approach and openness to discovering a character rather than forcing a predetermined build made me think this could be a strong match.
