Group preferred: Online VVT such as Foundry, DNDBeyond, Roll20
Number of Players Looking for a Group/DM: 3 players
Experience: A few years (I believe 3 + years each)
Location/Timezone: we are mixed (CST/EST)
Availability: (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 7PM to 11PM EST (more or less). We prefer Fridays
Preferred role: We are players looking for a DM and likely expect an additional player or two
Game style: We like a mix of RP and combat. I think its important to enjoy the world and story, but combat is inevitable but I prefer avoiding non-stop combat as that destroys the RP element. We are also highly visual and love creating art and playing with different art tokens and maps (DM side). Happy to help as we have DM before.
Hello there. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. We are three players looking for a homebrew campaign as we embrace creativity. It is of course we play in inspired existing worlds, we just want to avoid running campaigns per the book only. We already have drafted characters that I will drop their essence below. We are hoping to find a creative, accepting, and fun DM that can balance a world of adventure. It would be great to roleplay in a long term campaign and have a good time every week. We are open to most things for gameplay and RP wise and are available on Discord to further chat. I will paste my Discord below for those that wish to inquire/interview. We have all three players in campaigns together and separately (2/3) so we have some chemistry and are fairly consistent. We are not a fan of scheduling issues or folks that last minute abandon. I will update this post as I think of helpful information, and although I find knowing specific traits of players is irrelevant to campaigns ability to have fun, one of the players is furry and if that bothers you, please find a different group as we are accepting here. Thanks!
Current character concepts in minimal context (we expect any homebrew to be reviewed and approved but have the intent for it to be created to fit the theme of the character design, not to power play as that is boring, Further, backstory and what not are still in progress and may evolve as the campaign is identified. These are the concepts):
1. Two players wish to play as twin nobles whose lives got shaken by a cataclysmic event. The two roam the earth to try and find a cure, or even a resistant to what haunts the eldest. They are a duo to an extent so will have some similar upbringings.
2. One player wish to play a foodie character using the damage types from Witchlight Carnival, Misplaced Monsters, and The Lost Dungeon of Rickedness (Blueberry, Custard, and Shame). Their concept is a monk with a homebrew subclass that emphasis their biology/ki to use food as their weapon attacks and ability to support their allies (like a bardic inspiration). A good reference of what this character is similar to is Charmy from Black Clover but remove the sheep and maybe their innate species is human or ooze (they are still working on it).
Please let me know if interested as I will leave my Discord below until this post is resolved. Any questions I get to answer, I will try to update this post. It is a little late right now, so I will likely reread this and scramble thinking I could have written this better. We appreciate your time!
Hi EZTerminator! The campaign I’m currently recruiting for sounds remarkably close to what the three of you described.
The Burden of Fate’s Demand is a new, long-term D&D 5e campaign set in an original homebrew world. It plays weekly on Fridays at 8:00 PM Eastern / 7:00 PM Central. Sessions normally last 3–4 hours, so they will sometimes finish around 11:00 PM ET but could occasionally run until midnight. I wanted to mention that upfront given the window in your post.
The campaign is heavily character- and story-driven, with substantial roleplay, exploration, supernatural mystery, puzzles, consequential decisions, and combat that exists to move the story forward rather than filling time. I use custom maps, visual tokens, music, soundscapes, D&D Beyond Maps, and Discord, so your group’s interest in artwork and visual presentation would be very welcome.
The group is being formed before the campaign begins, and there are currently four of six seats available, so there is room for all three of you.
One important point is that character creation happens collaboratively during Session Zero. The characters begin as ordinary people without classes, with their extraordinary abilities emerging during the opening story. Your existing concepts would therefore need to be adapted to the world and opening premise, although their personalities, relationships, themes, and central ideas could absolutely inform what we create together.
I also want to be transparent that this is a paid campaign through StartPlaying at $15 USD per player, per session.
You can read the full description, see my profile and player reviews, message me with questions, or reserve seats here:
ALTERNATIVELY, I would be happy to work with you on a custom campaign just for the characters you are imagining, as well as help recruit a couple more players, for a game on Mon or Tue.
