Hi ethankaizen0! I saw that you’re a new player looking for a beginner-friendly online group and that weekends are among your available times.

You did not include a timezone, so I want to give the schedule in a few of the common timezones before suggesting the game:

• Friday at 8:00 PM ET
• Saturday at 1:00 AM UK time
• Saturday at 10:00 AM AEST

Sessions normally last approximately 3–4 hours. This would therefore only be a match if that specific time falls within your weekend availability.

The campaign is called The Burden of Fate’s Demand. It is a new, long-term D&D 5e campaign set in an original fantasy world, with a strong emphasis on roleplay, mystery, exploration, supernatural and horror elements, puzzles, meaningful decisions, and combat that advances the story.

It is designed to be accessible to new players. Characters are created collaboratively during Session Zero and begin as ordinary people without classes. Their classes and abilities emerge through the opening events, allowing you to learn the game and your character gradually rather than needing to understand a completed character sheet before your first session.

I have a teaching background and am comfortable explaining rules, D&D Beyond, and the virtual tabletop as we play. The group is being assembled before the campaign begins, so you would not be joining halfway through an established party or storyline.

I also want to answer the paid-game question upfront: this is a paid campaign through StartPlaying at $15 USD per player, per session. There are currently four of six seats available.
