New again player looking for beginner freindly group

Experience: I haven't played in 30ish years
Location/Timezone: Mountain Time
Availability: Tue-Thur after 5pm, Weekends are open (with advanced notice)

Game style: I haven't played in 30 or so years, my adult kids talked me into DM'n for them so I'm learning (again) as I go. 
Looking for adult game,
Homebrew with official ruleset preferred, but would entertain one or the other if the story is compelling... 
I enjoy lore and storytelling, not looking for pure hack n slash or pure Dungeon Crawling.
Theater of the Mind is ok, but I really like the immersion of visual maps, terrain, props, ect.
If payment is required for play, online services, or anything else, I'm not interested.
