(character sheets would have to be kept in a google doc or other non-dndbeyond sheet) The general idea is that each of your characters have been plucked from the moments right before their deaths by the onboard computer of a timetravelling space train called Kronos. your characters would have two options at this point.
- A. Work aboard the timetrain, repairing and defending it whilst exploring the universe whilst it scans for something. Something it has been searching for, for a very long time.
- B. Be returned to the moment before their unfortunate demise. There would be two main parts of the campaign. Exploring space, visiting outposts, mining mineral-rich meteor fields, etc- and wandering around "Low Worlds" or only recently colonized planets searching for any potent magical resources to refuel the timetrain. Low Worlds are the term for worlds that have not developed FTL (faster than light) travel, AKA your typical fantasy settings, modern and historical earth, etc. While on Low Worlds you would have to blend in if your characters general aesthetic doesnt fully match the planets- for example hiding your laser swords and blasters from the town guard or explaining it away with "oh its magic" which may or may not work-
Occasionally you might have to do the opposite on a technologically advanced planet. The main threats would be far too curious adventurers, space marauders who want to steal the timetrains technology or greedy rulers. Most of the story would be backstory and character driven, focusing on completing your characters personal goals or even visiting distant ancestors, etc.
Books wise, we'll be using Crooked Moon, Helianas Guide and a sci-fi setting thats not listed on dndbeyond. So far the group has 1 member with 2-3 others that may join if they can clear up their schedule in time for session 0 next month. If this sounds interested just message me on discord: chipsthiefer
