Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: We're mostly veteran players but any experience level welcome. Location/Timezone: Voice chat on Discord 8:00pm to 11:00pm Central Time. Schedule: Every Saturday. Planning to begin Campaign Saturday, August 1st, 2026. Roles sought: Looking for 2-3 additional Players. Game style: Current campaign is an open-ended, character driven campaign set in a typical high-fantasy setting. You can expect plenty of combat and dungeon exploration with probably way too many magic items mixed in.
Greetings! I'm RPG_Steve and I've been running games of D&D with a group on Discord for several years now. We have enjoyed many fun campaigns, but recently several players have had to leave the group due to changes in their schedule; life always gets in the way of a good game of D&D! Now I've come to the forums to seek out players to join our group to play on Discord Saturdays from 8 to 11PM.
We are starting a new campaign in a homebrew setting that is very open-ended to allow players to contribute to worldbuilding by bringing characters that can come from a wide variety of fantasy settings. Whoever you want to bring, wherever they are from, whatever their goals are, I want to work it into the campaign. The idea is, the world our campaign takes place in is so vast that any fantasy concept can exist. For example, maybe there is a kingdom of wizards who used magic to create a city that is almost futuristic in one corner of the world, but far off in another place people live among nature in great tree houses. Your input will allow us to build a world as we play. As DM I will reserve the right to ultimately have creative control over the campaign setting, but I want to run a campaign that is very player-driven.
We play the games on Discord over voice chat. We use D&D Beyond for character sheets and dice rolls. I don't use a VTT, mostly theory of the mind, with the occasional dungeon layout/map sent as an image over discord. Over the years I've built up a good amount of digital content on Beyond, including the 5.5 Players Handbook and DMG. Character build rules for this campaign are: Start at level 3, use any published content, and use point buy or standard array for ability score. Add any extra normal equipment that is worth 50gp or less. Be able to have your character answer the questions: Where are you from? Why are you adventuring so far from home?
We play pretty casually. I try to hit all 3 pillars of gameplay: combat, exploration, roleplay, but my campaigns tend to focus on combat and dungeon exploration. I don't mind power characters. I tend to balance things out with homebrew monsters and giving out magic items to underpowered characters. I like to be flexible as a DM to cater to the party's needs and wants; i.e. nobody wants to be a healer? Then you'll have plenty of access to potions, no problem! Ultimately our games are about having fun playing D&D together.
So if all that sounds good to you send me a message on Discord: @RPG_STEVE#9055 we can chat and see if you are a good fit. Be prepared to answer these 3 questions:
What are you looking for in a D&D Campaign?
What is your experience level with D&D?
How will you be able to consistently meet games on Saturday nights from 8 to 11PM Central Time?
I look forward to hearing from you! I'll be able to answer any of your questions when we chat. Thanks!
