Beginner Player LFG

Full disclaimer: I’ve never played a real game of DnD. I’ve watched YouTube channels, I have the hand books, I’ve been into this stuff since I was a kid because my dad used to play and had the old books and painted figures, but I’ve never found a group to play with. I’m very familiar with how the game works though. That being said, I’m still very much a beginner and I’m looking for a group that’s very beginner friendly. 

I’m most interested in playing a Ranger or melee class such as a Paladin or Fighter. And I’m open to different kinds of settings and scenarios, whether that’s an action packed adventure, a mystery case, or a cozy slice-of-life kind of thing.

I also have a very flexible schedule, but I’m in the EST-US zone so obviously something like 4am over here isn’t going to work for me.
