Im interested in dnd im just a little overwhelmed by the information, like what editions people play and the differences between rules from people to people etc. basically just asking for help here (telling me no one has time to teach me something avaliable on the internet is also helping, i dont really know how nice people are in this community or their patience so informing me people do not care would help) thank you :3
(edit) i forgor to put my discord if you wanted to talk to me, owo.iwu
People do play every edition but here in this forum 5.0 and 5.5 are most popular. Different groups will use slightly different rules (usually called house rules) but that is best to only worry about once you are in a group.
This forum is for players looking to join a game and there is a pinned comment at the top for the forum to do that (the big info we need is what timezone you are in, whether or not you are open to an online game or prefer in person, and what your availability is. (I occasionally run one-shots online but your post was at 3am for me and those games are usually 6pm EST.)
Relics and Rarities was an 7 episode live play (six on Geek and Sundry YouTube and the 7th on the D&D youtube channel). The regular cast seemed a bit newer to D&D at the time and they had a guest star in each episode who frequently had never played before. (each episode is maybe two hours long and fairly self contained so it is very watchable).
