My name is Beth (she/her), I'm from England (BST/GMT+1) and I am over the age of 25.
I've never played before, but I have watched countless hours of Critical Role (that does mean I'm more familiar with their DnD world, Exandria, than the typical worlds that are in the player's manual and DM's guide). I am a little addicted to creating characters, though I have no idea how they'd hold up against a campaign-ready character.
I'm not sure if I want to dive right in with a full fledged campaign. A one-shot, or short story version of a campaign, might be better while I learn the rules. However, I am no DM, so whatever works best.
I do have anxiety about being in new situations so it might take me a minute to open up and play the game fully, but I do want to try putting myself out there more. I honestly have a hard time making friends, so hopefully this all goes well. A respectful group would be nice, with good clean playing.
I am LGBTQ+ friendly, and probably more than a little neuro-spicy myself.
I wouldn't mind trying out a campaign with balanced storytelling and combat situations. I probably wouldn't mind a cute campaign that is more cosy fantasy but I think I'd love to be in a heroic tale.
I'm available to play on Thursdays and most Sundays (sometimes I pick up an overtime shift at work for a few hours).
I do have discord at the ready, though I've never used it before and I only have the free version of DND Beyond, with none of the physical books, though I do have physical copies (Player's Handbook, Monster Manual and Dungeon Master's Guide). A face-to-face game would probably be fun but I have no space to accommodate a group, or the means to acquire a space. If you have somewhere else online that you prefer to play, or that's better to play on, than Discord, let me know.
(I wouldn't mind ending up in an all-female group, but I would prefer not to end up the only female in the group.)
