Group type- In person, will start at a local game shop, then if comfortable move towards my place, if group consents. Prefer people around me and my fiancé’s age, so 30ish.
location, around Columbus Ohio. Will meet at a local game store or a restaurant for session 0, again depends on the group wants and needs, I’m pretty flexible on my needs.
schedule: Monday-Thursday I have off, as does my fiancé. So we can work around those days and set a day that works, I’d like to aim for Tuesday or Wednesday, if possible, but not necessary.
Roles needed, 2-3 players with an open mind and a kind heart!
For privacy reasons I ask that no one reveals their location on the public forum.
You may be wondering why I’ve chosen in person, my fiancé and I are looking to make friends in town and to also play d&d with. I’ll add a small bit about me at the bottom after I explain more.
I’ve ran a few games in my time, and I do have online experience as well. However my fiancé is a new player, and new to roleplaying at a table. She’s also shy when it comes to performing. So if you’re new, no worries, it’s my job to guide and teach you. Besides I prefer the rule of cool.
Here’s a bit about the world I have, (subject to change depending on player wants and needs)
For as long as history remembers, the world has been watched over by the gods.
Each deity shaped a portion of the land according to their divine vision, giving rise to vast kingdoms unlike any others. Towering mountain citadels, endless emerald forests, radiant holy empires, frozen kingdoms beneath eternal auroras, and ancient deserts where forgotten cities sleep all stand as monuments to the will of their patrons. Though the gods differ in ideals, each claims to guide mortals toward prosperity in their own way.
Beyond these great realms lies a world of mystery.
The oceans are vast and largely unexplored. Sailors speak of islands that appear where no maps mark them, storms that carry ships into unknown seas, and distant shores where ancient ruins stand untouched by time. Most dismiss these tales as exaggerations—until another expedition vanishes without explanation.
The wilderness between kingdoms is equally dangerous. Strange monsters roam forgotten places, ancient relics wait beneath crumbling ruins, and powerful beings are said to shape the very lands they inhabit. Scholars debate whether these are myths or remnants of an age lost to history.
The Church teaches that the gods have protected civilization since the beginning of time, driving back unimaginable horrors that once threatened all creation. Though those dark ages have long passed, signs of unrest have begun to spread across the world.
Sacred places have grown silent.
Ancient monsters stir from forgotten depths.
Entire villages disappear without a trace.
Travelers tell of impossible sights at the edges of civilization, where the laws of nature seem uncertain and reality itself feels… wrong.
Whether these are omens of another age of darkness or merely fearful superstition, no one can say.
In this world, adventurers are more than treasure hunters. They are explorers, diplomats, monster slayers, scholars, mercenaries, and heroes willing to venture beyond the safety of civilization. Every forgotten ruin may hold answers. Every expedition may discover a land unseen by mortal eyes. Every choice may shape the fate of kingdoms.
For while the gods still watch over the world…
Something ancient has begun watching back.
Here’s that bit about me. I love dungeons and dragons because it allows us, as a group, to collectively build a story and shape the narrative that empowers not only the character, but the players as well.
Lord Byron poem darkness is a favorite of mine. cat cafes are awesome. I’ve traveled to haunted locations and tours. I explore the outdoors to learn better ways to explore my environmental story telling, such as hiking or even white water rafting. I try my best to be open and allow all to have their voice be heard.
