Group type: Online; MapsVTT with Discord for Video chat
Location/Timezone: Eastern USA
Schedule: Sundays - 6:00pm EST
Roles sought: up to 3 additional players
I've been running some episodic Sunday evening games using MapsVTT and discord for video chat. Each session is relatively self contained so players can jump in and try it out without too much effort.
Two possible hooks for this week:
"An eccentric old alchemist lives up in the hills outside of Perrone. He is said to offer much cheaper prices to adventurers who visit his subterranean grotto than those he offers at Perrone's annual festival. However, this year was the third time in a row he has missed the festival and many are beginning to wonder if his strange creatures and experiments have finally done him in."
-or-
"The mountain town of Dragon's Peak is celebrating the death of Basalt, the red dragon who had terrorized them for generations. Word has gone out inviting people far and wide to join the town's celebration!"
The game is first person role playing, good aligned, with limited/no out of character, and a touch on the grittier side. I have 40+ years of xp as a GM but the game welcomes beginners.
Game is 5e (2014) and not using most 2024 rules as of yet. All previously published official WotC classes and species that you own on D&DBeyond are available. You'll be starting at level 3 using standard array (15,14,13,12,10,8; +2/+1 decoupled as per Tasha's). Returning this week will be a Human Warlock and a Genasi Rogue. (Elven Monk and Elven Artificer can't make this week.)
We will be using video through discord as it greatly enhances the roleplay.
Beginners welcomed!
===================================
Please answer the following items (I will not chase down incomplete answers so those applications will be passed over):
Can you confirm that you can and will do video?
How long have you been playing table-top RPGs?
What will your 2014 species, class, and subclass be?
Briefly tell me a little about your hero in 2-3 sentences:
