Hello!
I'm a DM with 3 years, over 2 campaigns, of experience looking to add 1-2 players to an existing group of 4 players for our upcoming campaign set in a fantasy version of Rome starting around 218 BCE.
When are we starting - Hoping to start session 0's for the campaign in late August and session 1 in early September.
Frequency - We will be aiming to have a bi-weekly campaign from 7pm EST - 10/11pm EST. Campaign will be alternating with another campaign another one of the players will be running which you would also be welcome to join.
VTT and Audio - We use Discord for audio and owlbear for VTT.
The Group - We are all men in our late 20's to mid 30's, but those of all genders and ages are welcome at our table.
Campaign/Table Vibes - Our last two campaigns can best be described as chaotic stupid in nature being very bit heavy and leaning on the rule of cool. We're going to try to try something different for this third campaign aiming for a more serious tone with the material and how NPCs will react to the PCs. We will see how we enjoy and if it isn't fun we'll adjust accordingly but the aim going into it at least will be serious.
Game content - The only thing I will highlight is we don't do anything X-Rated at the table, everything else as long as everyone is comfortable is fair play. DM if there might be something to you specifically that might be a trigger or that you might not be comfortable with, and I can let you know if it might be present in the campaign.
Campaign Setting - The campaign is set in Rome while it is still a Republic on the rise and will explore some of the historical events starting from the start of the Second Punic war onwards. Events will be smashed together a bit to explore some of the more interesting bits of the history and won't be set in stone as the group will have great latitude in moving the tides of history, which undoubtably will eventually move us into some uncharted territory!
Character Creation Rules -
Starting Lvl 2 (or higher if your background is tied into a fall from grace) for session 0, will lvl up to lvl 3 for session 1
32 Point buy, min 6 max 16
Free Feat at lvl 4
1 Uncommon item
Homebrew Backgrounds tied to your station in Rome (Patrician, Equatorial/Plebian, Freedman, Slave, Foreigner) will share in separate sheet if you join the campaign

Happy to share the stage with the group and are looking to create a character that is working towards a common goal and help individuals in the group achieve their goal. Story telling is the most fun when doing it together, and I'd like someone to join who is looking to play off of one another not just have their character in the spotlight.
You think rolling a 1 can be as fun as rolling a 20 (sometimes). Some of my favorite RP moments are the critical **** ups I've done and ideally, I'd hope you'd be able to enjoy the highs and lows that the dice bring.
If there is a character death, we can explore either way to bring them back if we can find a good story reason but it's possible there might not be and if that's the case in the words of Ivan Drogo if he dies, he dies. That has to be something you're comfortable with possibly happening.
