The year is 1880, the world is changing and has changed in ways no one could have expected. Throughout the world, creatures and beings from all types of folk tales have made themselves known since the Fae Revolution in 1800 and demanded the same rights and liberties of the “normal” world. These beings, often labeled as “Phantasmal Extranormative Beings” or more widely known as “Otherfolk”, have been part of the known world now for 80 years. Alongside these creatures from myth and fantasy, come ever more unusual, paranormal, and dangerous phenomena. Are they the cause of these events, are they fleeing the true cause, is there something else at play?
Here in this new west, you find yourself as a member of a heist crew on a train supposedly carrying valuable artifacts. Will you follow through with this heist and deliver what was promised? Or work with larger forces to defend what may be on this train? Marauders, gunslingers, and heatstroke are far from the only dangers in this wild and weird frontier, will you survive to become one of them? Blaze your own path in the Devil’s West.
Schedule: Weekly on Sundays at 5:00 pm CST | 3-3.5 hour sessions
Game style: I have been playing D&D for better part of 8 years now, with a background in DMing and homebrew creation for a good bit of those years. I strive to include all pillars of play into my game style, centering around three main tenets: a character/player driven story that encourages and rewards roleplay, combat that is impactful and part of the greater narrative, and a fleshed out world that encourages players to interact and live within it. I offer ways to make the players more immersed in the world such as voice acting, fitting ambient sound and music, as well as engaging and interesting mechanics during both roleplay and combat. I tend to focus on the idea of Rules as Intended with room for the Rule of Cool, and a tone in my games that will allow for comedic and dramatic moments. My games run $20 per session on StartPlaying.Games, with the Session 0 being free!
