The Crown
Eight gods once walked the world. In a single night — remembered now only as The Crown — they rose into the sky, froze mid-motion, and turned to stone. Their bodies still hang there, colossal and silent, each wreathed in an aurora that has never once faded. Seen from anywhere in the world, the eight ribbons of light arc and cross overhead like a broken diadem. Scholars call it the Crown's Ribbon; common folk just call it the sky wound.
The Last God
The eighth and final god to fall was Mirelle, the Duskstar — goddess of twilight, tides, and the space between one thing and another. Where her siblings' magic died with their bodies, hers didn't fully go out. In her last hours of movement, she reached down and gave a fragment of her divinity — her Spark — to five mortal children, hoping one of them, someday, might find a way to undo what was done to her family.
She didn't choose wisely, or she chose too late. She's stone now, same as the rest, yet her power lives on within you.
Twenty years have passed, and the world is on the brink of all-out war. Divine intervention is needed now more than ever.
