Game: D&D 2024 (5.5e) — 2014 5e characters and items are fully allowed!
Starting Level: Level 5 (For the short campaign)

The Short Campaign: 3 to 5 Sessions at Level 5

I am a veteran Dungeon Master with nearly 10 years of experience, mostly running D&D. This advertisement is specifically for a 3 to 5 session trial run starting at Level 5. It is designed to see how we mesh together as an online social group, an active play group, and a general D&D match.

Because the focus of this short run is testing our communication and gameplay chemistry, there will be less heavy story and deep roleplay right off the bat. Instead, it is a low-pressure way for you to see if you like my DM style, my world, and my basic adventure hooks.

Note: If the trial goes great and we all decide to keep playing, we will transition into a full campaign with brand-new Level 1 or Level 3 characters in this same world, where heavy role-playing and deep narrative will become the main focus.

Attendance Policy (We Play Weekly!)

The Rule: I am looking for 3 to 5 players total. When at least 3 players show up, the session runs.

The World: Sandbox

The Setting: A dark, gritty fantasy homebrew world of my own design. The world is a living, persistent sandbox filled with active hooks that keep moving unless the players change it or stop it. The party has total freedom to focus on whatever goals, factions, or mysteries they choose to pursue whether it is a small personal goal, a mystery, local danger, world wide danger or something else.

The Tone (21+): This is a dark world experiencing harsh realities like poverty, starvation, slavery, death, etc. It features blood and heavy mature themes.

The Combat: Combat is strategic and somewhat difficult. For bigger battles will use DnD beyond VTT or Roll20 VTT players choice.
Character Creation Rules (Level 5)

Allowed Content: All official D&D sourcebooks and official D&D Beyond third-party partner content are allowed. All classes, subclasses, and races published within these books are fully permitted.

Banned Content: No Spelljammer content, crossover universes (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Rick & Morty), or Critical Role / Exandria content (including Matt Mercer homebrew, Blood Hunter, Chronurgy/Graviturgist wizards, Echo Knights, etc.).

No Homebrew: There is strictly no homebrew classes, races, or items allowed for this short campaign.

Stat Generation I prefer that you roll for your stats. All rolls must be fully verifiable by me. You must roll using our Discord server's dice bot in the #roll channel, roll live on camera, or record a video of your physical dice rolls.

The Method: Roll 8 times and pick the best 6 numbers.

The Dice: For each of your 8 rolls, you can use any die or combination of dice that equals a maximum of 20. (Examples: 1d20, 1d12 + 1d8, or 2d6 + 1d8).

The Rules & Homebrew

We will be using the updated 5.5e rules framework, supplemented by a few minor homebrew house rules to match the darker tone of the setting. For example, the Death Saving Throw DC is increased, alongside a few other minor mechanical tweaks.
