Some promises are forgotten. Others refuse to die.
A Dark Fantasy D&D Adventure | Mystery • Exploration • Roleplay • Combat
Not every adventurer is destined for greatness. Some simply need coin, a warm meal, and another contract to see them through the week.
For the members of the Adventurers’ Guild, contracts are a way of life. From clearing out troublesome beasts to hunting dangerous monsters, there is always work for those willing to risk their lives.
But not every contract is quite what it seems.
The Contract
A remote farming village has reported a series of deadly wolf attacks. With two villagers dead, the harvest failing, and tensions rising, the local mayor has grown desperate for assistance.
Unfortunately, the contract offers little in the way of reward or prestige.
Too dangerous for inexperienced adventurers, yet hardly worth the attention of a seasoned B-Rank party, the request has spent far too long gathering dust on the guild’s noticeboard.
Tired of hearing complaints, the Guild Master assembles a temporary company of C-Rank adventurers and gives them a simple assignment:
Travel to the village. Investigate the attacks. Eliminate the threat. Report back once completed.
A straightforward contract.
Or so you’ve been told.
What Awaits You
Tales of the Guild: The Briarbound is a three-act dark fantasy adventure where an ordinary contract becomes the beginning of something far more dangerous.
Players can expect a mixture of investigative roleplay, meaningful character interactions, exploration, tactical combat, and difficult decisions. The world holds secrets for those willing to uncover them, and not every problem can be solved with a blade.
Your characters aren’t legendary heroes or chosen champions. You’re working adventurers brought together by circumstance, each with your own reasons for accepting the contract.
Whether you’re seeking coin, reputation, adventure, or simply somewhere to belong, the guild has work for you.
And this particular contract has been waiting long enough.

Three Saturday evening sessions dedicated to the adventure itself. Each session will run for up to five hours, including breaks.
Please only apply if you can reasonably commit to all four sessions.
Player Expectations
I’m looking for players who enjoy cooperative storytelling, character development, meaningful roleplay, and engaging with the world around them.
A few important expectations:
No PvP. This is a cooperative adventure, and the party is expected to work together.
Respect fellow players. Everyone deserves an opportunity to participate and contribute.
Avoid metagaming. Your character’s knowledge should reflect their background and experiences, not information you possess outside the game.
Be reliable. With only three gameplay sessions, consistent attendance is important.
Engage with the story. Investigation, conversation, and character decisions will be just as important as combat.
Communicate openly. Questions, feedback, and respectful discussion are always welcome.
You don’t need to be an expert in D&D. New players are welcome, provided they’re willing to learn and participate.
A Note From the DM
This will be my first adventure as a Dungeon Master. My goal is to create an immersive, character-driven experience where player decisions matter, actions have consequences, and the story develops naturally through our sessions.
I’m looking for players who enjoy collaborative storytelling, are willing to engage with the world and their fellow adventurers, and are comfortable with a newer DM learning the craft.
While The Briarbound is designed as a complete, self-contained adventure, my hope is that Tales of the Guild will eventually grow into an ongoing series, featuring returning characters, new adventurers, and interconnected stories that build upon the world we create together.
I also intend to record and transcribe our sessions, with the consent of all participants, for the possibility of adapting our adventures into a long-form written narrative. Recording will only take place with everyone’s agreement.
Above all, I want this to be a collaborative experience. The world and its mysteries are mine to present, but the decisions, relationships, victories, and failures belong to the characters who inhabit it.
