A casino full of distractions. A prize worth stealing. A crew recruited because each member brings something special.
I’m Josh, the GM behind Questmasters, and I’m looking for players for The Stygian Gambit, a cooperative casino-heist one-shot from Keys from the Golden Vault.
Whether you’re the smooth-talking distraction, the observant scout, the magical problem-solver, or the muscle holding the escape route, your specialty has a place on the crew. Gather information, work out a plan, and improvise together when things get complicated.
Game details
Rules: D&D 5e, using the 2014 rules.
Date and time: [Saturday October 17th - 3:00pm PDT]
Session length: [3 to 5 hours]
Characters: Level [3], created in D&D Beyond.
Experience Level: Intermediate players
Group size: Up to six players; [5] seats available.
Price: [Free]
Platforms: Discord for voice, D&D Beyond for character sheets and rolls, and Foundry for maps and visuals. (I recommend you have 2 monitors as I use foundry as just a battle map and for visuals)
What to expect
Expect roleplay, investigation, planning, infiltration, and possible combat. The introduction and mission briefing are guided so we can get everyone into the adventure. From there, you decide how the crew approaches the job, and the world responds to your choices.
You’ll create a short introduction showing why the Golden Vault recruited your character. That gives us a chance to meet each specialist before the crew gets to work.
You don’t need to know every rule or perform a character voice. Questions are welcome, and I’ll help you get ready. You also don’t need to learn Foundry’s controls—I handle those while you describe your actions.
What I ask of players
Bring a character who will accept the mission, cooperate with the crew, and help other characters shine. Don’t build around betraying, stealing from, or sabotaging your teammates.
Respect everyone’s boundaries, share the spotlight, and stay involved when others are taking their turn.
Complete the character setup, private player questionnaire, and access/audio check before the session. Get familiar with your character’s main abilities; ask when something is unclear.
Join ready to play at the scheduled time, and message me directly if you expect to be late or absent.
Keep private player information private. Recording, streaming, or sharing private table content requires permission.
You’ll need a computer, an internet connection that supports voice chat, and a clear microphone. Boundaries and accessibility needs can be discussed privately. During play, anyone can ask to pause or message me about uncomfortable content without explaining why.
