Game: D&D 5e — 2024 rules Group type: Online Experience: New and experienced players welcome Location/Timezone: Online — Eastern Time (America/New_York) Schedule: Biweekly Wednesdays at 7:00 PM ET, beginning October 28, 2026 Roles sought: Players — rounding out a five-character starting party Cost: FREE — this is not a paid game Tools: D&D Beyond character sheets, AboveVTT, Discord voice Campaign: Heart of Stone from Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone Starting Level: 1 Advancement: XP
THE RAIL ENDS. THE FRONTIER BEGINS.
I'm looking for additional players for a new Eberron campaign set on the Western Frontier.
The campaign begins aboard the Westward Cascade, a lightning rail traveling toward Quickstone: a fast-growing Brelish mining town at the foot of the Graywall Mountains, close to the contested border with Droaam.
The Last War has only recently ended. Veterans, Cyran refugees, merchants, prospectors, dragonmarked heirs, kobold workers, smugglers, and travelers from Droaam are all trying to build lives on a frontier that is changing quickly. House investment brings opportunity, old communities have interests of their own, and ancient Dhakaani ruins lie across the region.
Game style: Eberron pulp adventure and noir intrigue with a mixture of roleplay, investigation, exploration, combat, ancient mysteries, competing interests, and meaningful character choices. Quickstone is intended to become a real home base whose people and communities can matter to your character.
Frontier logistics are also part of play. Equipment, carrying capacity, coin weight, supplies, travel, storage, and transportation matter, so practical preparation can be as important as combat ability.
You do NOT need prior Eberron knowledge. Every player receives a spoiler-free four-page Player Primer covering Quickstone, the Western Frontier, campaign themes, character creation, legal sources, character connections, and play procedures.
Character creation uses the 2024 Player's Handbook framework. Characters begin at level 1 using standard array or 27-point buy and fixed HP. Variant Encumbrance and coin weight are in use.
Allowed character sources: • 2024 Player's Handbook • Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone • Exploring Eberron • Eberron: Forge of the Artificer
Quickstone offers some unusual Eberron character possibilities, including gargoyles, gnolls, harpies, medusas, warforged, worgs, wandslingers, dragonmarked characters, and new frontier-themed subclasses and backgrounds.
Your character should have a reason to cooperate with the other PCs and at least one reason to care what happens to Quickstone or the Western Frontier. Session one begins on the train, so you'll also decide why you're traveling toward Quickstone and what you hope to find there.
If you're interested, reply here or message me with a little about yourself, your D&D/RPG experience, whether you can reliably attend the biweekly Wednesday time, what you most enjoy in a campaign, and any character idea you already have. A rough concept is completely fine.
Hello, I am definitely interested in a bi-weekly Wednesday evening game!
I'm also on EST, and I've been playing D&D for a few years now. The thing that I enjoy the most is the camaraderie and the teamwork with the right group of players.
I have a female Aereni High Elf Warlock that I really enjoy playing, and I would like to continue/restart her narrative. She wields her ancestor's Double-Bladed Scimitar, and she would be traveling west as an opportunity to experience life outside of her home continent (Far Traveler background?). I like to develop my characters based on their experiences, and I'm a big proponent for being selfless and a team player.
Thank you in advance for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon!
The Wednesday game is full now (unless someone drops out)
but I have an opening for a Friday biweekly campaign that would be at the same time 7pm EST - actually there are two Friday biweekly campaigns, one is level 6 and the other one has not started yet
as for Far Traveler background, we are using 5.5 backgrounds but look at this way, you can reflavor it however you like, backstory and background are different things
Are the Friday games also Eberron-based, and when does the new one start? I'm not opposed to the Level 6 game, but my availability depends on which Fridays are compatible with my schedule.
No worries on the Far Traveler background; I may already have a 5.5e background in mind, and true, backstory is different.
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks again, and have a great day!
