At the crossroads of seven ancient roads stands Valemont, a bustling merchant city in the Greenfields of Faerûn. Merchants bargain for influence, adventurers seek fortune, and the city's streets are filled with opportunities for those willing to make a name for themselves.

Whether you're an aspiring hero, a wandering mercenary, a silver-tongued swindler, or simply someone looking to build a life in a new city, Valemont has a place for you.

We're opening recruitment for our Closed Beta, and we're looking for players interested in helping establish an active, collaborative D&D Living World community.

What is Valemont?

Valemont is a persistent, Discord-based D&D community where your character exists beyond a single adventuring party or campaign.

Rather than following one fixed storyline, players can participate in adventures run by different Dungeon Masters, develop relationships through freeform roleplay, pursue personal ambitions, and contribute to an evolving shared setting.

What we offer:

• D&D 2024 Rules: Official Wizards of the Coast character options, including approved compatible legacy material.
• Flexible Adventures: Both asynchronous play-by-post quests and scheduled synchronous sessions conducted through Discord.
• Persistent Characters: Keep your character across adventures, develop relationships, and build a reputation within the city.
• Character Progression: Earn Adventure Credits through quests and World Credits through participation and meaningful roleplay.
• Freeform Roleplay: Explore the city, meet other characters, establish connections, and create stories outside of quests.
• Downtime & Economy: Craft items, work, trade, undertake personal projects, and even establish a player-owned business.
• Player-Driven Storytelling: Your character's ambitions, choices, and relationships can influence the world around them.
• Custom Discord Bot: Quillby helps manage characters, progression, currency, downtime, and other Living World systems.

Character Creation

New players may begin at Level 1, 2, or 3, with different starting benefits depending on their chosen level.

Ability scores are rolled using 4d6, dropping the lowest, with a full reroll available if the total is below 70.

We use the 2024 ruleset alongside an approved list of compatible official material. Homebrew, third-party character options, and multiclassing are unavailable during Closed Beta.

What We're Looking For

We're welcoming players of varying experience levels who enjoy collaborative storytelling, character development, and participating in a shared world.

We're also interested in finding Dungeon Masters who would like to run adventures and help bring Valemont to life.

Because this is a Closed Beta, we're particularly interested in people who are patient with developing systems, willing to provide constructive feedback, and interested in helping establish a welcoming, sustainable community.
