To prevent myself from going off on a tangent and talking too absurd of an amount, here's a decently clear setup:
Generally Speaking ;
How | I prefer 5th edition, online: chatting over discord so you can hear my strange attempts at voicing NPCs. Roll20 would probably work best, but I'm still very new to using the site, as most of my experience is from playing in person.
Times Available | I live in the EST timezone, and with my college schedule, I'm open to playing any time on weekends, Tuesday nights, or Thursday nights. Scheduled meetings can be a nice thing to look forward to, but I'm flexible with what works best for the group.
On me | I have about four years experience DMing, though I'm still experimenting with different 'styles.' I'm a nineteen year old trans guy, and I know more about my characters than I do myself. You're probably going to get dad jokes, ideas I got out of bed to write at 2 am, and coffee-loving propaganda.
Game style | My campaigns are typically homebrew. I like to include a heavy focus on roleplay choices, story, and character development in my games. Combat is still present, but I love trying to bring those scenes to life beyond cursing the RPG gods for botching our dice rolls. I love complex missions with serious, difficult decisions for the characters to make along the journey, but I also love humor when it doesn't derail things.
Campaign Setting | I lean towards D&D's traditional high fantasy, but I'm not strict if it fits the style of the group. Since we're all gearing up for Spook Season, I'm currently stepping out of my comfort zone by writing a horror-leaning fantasy setting with pieces of somewhat modern technology. If you're interested, I could send you a work-in-progress introduction, but we absolutely do not have to use it. If people are comfortable with the setup time, I love writing campaign settings alongside the player characters' backstories.
What Sort of Players I'm Looking For ;
Age | Though I'm only nineteen myself, I prefer to have players that are 18+. That's not to say that a seventeen year old player can't be an amazing addition to a group, but because I'm comfortable with DMing for adult players, it's much easier to have a cutoff all around. Beyond that, things are relatively flexible.
Experience | Honestly, not needed! It would be nice to have at least one player with experience, but I would love to help new players develop their D&D addiction! However, if you are a seasoned player, you are just as welcome. Just go easy on me if I forget the rules for a special attack.
Group Size | Three to five players is a comfortable range for me. Having an adventuring duo of two players is fine, but I also love the group dynamic with three or four characters.
Conduct | For an enjoyable game, it's very important that people stay respectful of each other, and work to include everyone equally. Dungeon and Dragons is a social game; its different from creative writing in the sense that we build off each other. Go ahead and come at me with an elaborate backstory (good heavens, I love those), but also be prepared to have your character's story shaped by the other group members.
Characters | If you love creating diverse characters with both flaws and emotional depth, then I would absolutely love to have you as a player! The one thing I have to say is I want people to stay true to their characters' personalities within reason. Characters absolutely change as life changes around them, but I'd like to try to stay away from decisions made only as a 'shock factor' without anything else to back them up.
Would you look at that, I've already talked your eyes off. If you're interested in joining, I'd to love to hear from you what times you're available, any questions you have, or important things about your style as a player. Just tell me what you'd like about yourself! Implied by the title, I'd love to have people who are also part of the LGBT+ community, but its not some sort of checklist requirement. Having a diverse group in general is lovely.
( Lastly, someone, for the love of all that is good in the world, have an elvish character adopted by a pair of happily married dwarven mothers. I feel woefully deprived for never encountering such a character. )

A friend of mine (23, NB) and I (26, F) would be down for Tuesday night games. Preferably around 8PM Eastern time since they get out of class at 7PM (our timezone wise) and would need a chance to get home.
I am GMT time but I think it might be possible for me to still attend the times you may be looking for. Im available on Saturday nights, Sunday afternoons and Monday and Tuesday evenings. I am very RP heavy and really enjoy this aspect a lot, although combat can be a lot of fun too!
I am relatively new to DnD but am currently playing on a couple other campaigns but cannot get enough of it.
Very interested to learn more and hopefully I can join you :)
I'd like to join the game if you still have room. I am available on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights but it will depend for weeknights since I live in the Mountain Time Zone. What time slots were you thinking of starting the campaign during weeknights?
Do you mean the horror themed one? It's actually a file right now, which I'd love to share if you're alright with that- But the watered down version is that the player characters are caught in a panicking city with a spreading plague. Players are either citizens of the city, or healers sent from the neighboring areas in the hopes of stopping the disease from spreading elsewhere. The city is religious, and believes that their god is punishing them, but none of their attempts to appease him are working, and the neighboring cities, for the most part, do not believe in the existence of this god. A military commander is sent alongside the healers from the other cities, and he is prepared to give the order to burn the entire area to ash if the disease is not able to be reasonably contained soon.

That sounds lovely! I don't have classes on Tuesdays myself, and so they work very well for me.

@DarthOmega - Hi, I'd love to have you part of a game! Well, its looking like Tuesday nights have come up twice, but the time differences may be hard if we're looking at evening games. My night may be your one in the morning if I'm reading the time zones correctly. I'm really happy to see someone getting into D&D though! Saturdays may work at an earlier time- I have to ask around for a second.
@YellowjacketJoe - 'Ello! Tuesdays nights are popping up more often, so I'm leaning towards having sessions then. I have no classes on Tuesdays, and so I'm fine with starting any time, but Rhotic said her and her friend would need to wait until 8 EST to start. So would 6pm MT be too early for you? Saturdays are the second thing I've heard most so far.
@DanosaurusWrecks - Ahh alrighty! Sorry I didn't follow up with that message, I didn't expect to get replies so quickly! Saturday nights are something I'm seeing a lot of. I need to ask around just a bit more, because Tuesdays have also come up a bit. I'd still love to have you part of the group!
@Rhotic - Alrighty, sorry this is a bit of backtracking, but do you know if Tuesdays would be the only time for you and your friend to join? Saturday nights also work for some others, and I thought I would ask on the off chance they might be alright on your side too?

@MorallyAmbiguous - Sadly Tuesday is the only day we've got open. Jack DMs on Thursdays and I have another game that's going to be happening on Sundays. Pretty much every other night is work devoted.

British Summer Time is ending at the end of the month which means 8 EST is midnight for me, I dont mind playing late, I work the next day but should be able to manage it as its only one day. If we do Saturdays I could stay up till any time. Whatever is easiest for you all.

Cool beans! I 100% can't make Tuesdays with my current schedule but I'm fine with missing a session every once in a while. Just keep me in the loop.
Also my time zone is EST if that makes a difference.
@Rhotic - Ahh, I understand. I'm going to wait and see if YellowjacketJoe is alright with 8pm given the time difference- and DarthOmega may still be able to join. Scheduling is the worst part of tabletop, goodness. Do you mind if I ask how long you two normally do sessions? I don't have a particular preference beyond what might be too late for others' schedules.
@DarthOmega - So you mean you'd be okay with midnight? You don't have to work early, do you? If you think you can then you can, but I don't want to doom you to caffeine dependency on Wednesdays, haha. But yeah, in all, Tuesdays or Saturdays are the two big ones left.
@DanosaurusWrecks - Ah gosh darn. I think we're doing one day out of the week. I just realized I probably didn't say that, whoops- Sorry this is a little bit of a rollercoaster! I'm almost thinking that I should try managing two separate games: one on Tuesdays, and one on Saturdays. I think we would need another person to split into two groups though?
@ Everyone, actually - I usually have sessions meeting once a week.I didn't say that before, and I'm sorry about that! If someone can't make a particular session, then I prefer to not meet at all that day, because its difficult to account for characters' disappearances in a continuous campaign. That, and I want everyone to be able to influence the story at all times. I've done it before in a very casual game, but its truly the definition of a plot hole, haha.

I prefer High Fantasy myself. And I'm available Tuesday Nights until Midnight EST.
@Tavana - Oh sorry for the spam! High fantasy is always high on my list, so that's more than fine! Tuesday nights are coming up again, then. I'm seriously considering running two games at this point- One on Tuesdays, and one on Saturdays, so the schedule questions are still going around. Do you mind if I ask if you're available on Saturdays as well?

I'm totally down to join, you've set up some really good standards and stuff!
I would like more info on the campaign

That works for me. Jack, my friend, is at school right now but I can do my best to get in touch with them if they have any questions!
Go for it

Well, those two replies showed up in between the time it took me to hit send. Sorry about that!

Sounds like a plan. 100% down for Saturdays.
@MorallyAmbiguous 3-4 hours. We tend to do sessions every week as well, so that's no bother to us either.
